Just curious. Why would you order through doordash if ordering pick up? Raised menu price, fee to doordash and they take a cut from merchant too. Sounds like totally unnecessary middleman. Just call the restaurant.
Not all places increase prices. There are some places that keep their prices consistent. You just need to check on their yelp menu prices. Chipotle is one example

I only started using Doordash since I got the membership included with my chase credit card and they also gave statement credits for purchases. That plus the promos recently have made it quite useful.

I probably would never pick up using DD unless its a nice discount but delivery is reasonable for use case especially with covid but the increased prices in food makes it hard to stomach sometimes.

Still doesnt change the fact that doordash collects fees from both parties. That is just stupid. I refuse to order through them especially when this potentially hurts local small business.
know what hurts a small business more? NOT using them at all... :-)

I disagree. If there is some middleman that takes large chunk of revenue, it actually hurts those small business. They might not even make any profit after fees. If these promo costs are dumped on them, it will hurt them even more. Skip doordash and call them directly.
lot of "if's" in your statement...

Remember folks that Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders already have DashPass as a free perk. You also get $60 of DoorDash statement credits for free per year.

So you get basically another $20 of food with this deal.

i have the same problem too. Talked to the reps, they all gave me arbitrary, genric solution and tried to disconnect me ASAP after i stayed idle more than 1 min.
Same here. Legit account and all. I have doubts as to whether this promo will work this week.

I've been using the promos, so far on larger chains. Don't think Chipotle is a small business.

Real question, if you think a small business is hurt by DoorDash, wouldn't they just leave the service? It's not like a restaurant is forced to be on the app.

With respect to Chipotle, I think that was true a couple weeks ago, at least near me. Last week, with the BOGO, the burrito prices through DD increased by about a dollar across the board. I just checked now, and they didn't go back down after the promo. They're still a little higher than direct from Chipotle.

I guess 2 "if"s are lots if you can only count upto 3. Also first "if" is "if you use doordash". What are you like 10? Your reading comprehension is about there.
What small business do you own that gives you intimate knowledge on doordash systems?

I started a $22 order this morning, seemed to take off $20. Didn't go through with the final "confirm order" button, but far enough to see the complete invoice.

The place I picked was a random Thai restaurant down the street from me.

Before you argue about stuff you dont know online, go ask small business owners if you know them personally. This is a sentiment from a very close friend of mine that owns a sandwich shop.
Umm....I wasn't arguing at all. I wanted to know why....so why doesn't your friend leave DoorDash? If he's not making profit, I can't find a reason to stay on there.

I work in small business, not food related. If we can't make money on something, than we don't do it. However, especially now, a small profit is better than no profit. Which is how I believe most places are benefiting from DD (being so popular). They just get more business than if not on the service.

These are good deals. DD is giving away the $20, not the restaurant.

Do they normally honor the deal all the way thru the end date ? Or do they have a max redemption ?
