I have a 5 camera arlo pro 2 outdoor camera system. 5 cameras is max for free 7 day cloud storage.

Will this camera require me to get subscription or would this be a separate account?

I have this for 4 years, like it a lot. Think it is one of the best out there: good video, motion alert, 7 days free cloud is the best, easy access through app and desktop. A little pricey, but worth it

It is worth noting that everything I've seen says this won't sync with your base station because it is a self-contained unit. Here's a little more info. [arlo.com]

used to run these, the loading is just way too slow.
I use wyze now, cheaper and loads way faster than Arlo.
Wyze is not without its issues though, do your research.

Agreed. Doesn't sync to base station, uses WiFi since it's powered but still counts as a camera on the account which is where the limit is determined. But as someone else said, 2nd account, share access. Only challenge that adds is when you want to change modes you have to be on the owner account IIRC.

I have 6 cameras on the free 7 days. Is the 5 cameras thing new?

No, it's not new. It's been that way for a couple years anyway.

Just switched to all eufy from wyze. Eufy cams have astoundingly better clarity and night vision. App also loads video almost instantly whereas wyze took a few seconds.

Home base stores tons of recordings without paying a subscription.

Fyi - purely a shit company and I am going to post every time I can. Opened a ticket June 1, I still cannot get into my account. Over 60 days and I paid for a service I cannot even access.

If it works, good. If not, you are screwed. A garbage company.

I will post this in every Arlo post I see. Save yourself the headaches.

Really? I'll have to check them out. Didn't know they made cams. That sounds good, how much is it?

Their indoor cams are around 30-50, their outdoor wireless cams regularly go on sale for 100. Battery lasts forever. Built in AI for object detection works really well.

I have a Arlo Q and it has worked fairly well for me for the past two years. However, I have never had to contact their support. I've read lots of horror stories about all of the Arlo products from multiple sources, so unfortunately I don't think your experience is that unique. Thanks for sharing your experience with people.
