Is this a huge upgrade from the gen 1 ? I have the olden one wasnt sure if it will worth upgrading it to this one.
I had the choice between galaxy buds for about half as much as galaxy buds+.

I paid twice the price because battery life was my #1 requirement. The buds+ lasts much longer on a single charge (the earbuds themselves, not with case together). I can tell you, I somewhat do and dont regret my decision. While the Galaxy buds+ are phenomenal drivers (at least for MY ears), they're glitchy.

Once, it completely went out on me, when it was near dead battery.

One charge on one earbud sometimes discharges the entire case. It's gotten a little better over time though. I think the last update fixed this.

Sometimes they just go out on their own, making some weird electronic feedback noise... kinda like a disturbed signal/dirty radio signal/BT signal. I have to find my case, put it back in there, and put it back in my ear.

It's not PERFECT, but it's also not $200+ (like apple's airpods). I would purchase again,, but, just... from my perspective? If battery life isn't your biggest concern, I probably wouldn't upgrade.

At $100? I'd say this is a STEAL! (I paid $117, and with these very minor nuances, I would buy them again) I use mine's all week long for work. The quality of sound is great, the battery life is great...

P.S.

FWIW, those glitches happen maybe once every few months or so... it's not like it happens everyday. Maybe it's my work area? Maybe my phone is dated and BT is on its way out? (Galaxy S8+), but it DOES happen (at least on my set), and I'd like to share my thoughts on it. Especially using it almost every day of the week.

Have a pair. They start to wear on my ears after using for more than 2 hours.
It might be your ear pieces, have you tried swapping them out?

My ears don't get worn, but they get sweaty (YUCK!), and i don't mean to sound gross, but i simply walk to the bathroom and clean my ears with a Q-tip, and go about the rest of my day. They're super comfortable for me on stock ear pieces, but everyone's ear is different.

What's a good option for someone wanting active noise cancellation? Or at the least, a good seal from rubber tips? I'm currently using Soundcore Liberty Airs and they get the job done. I just wish the battery life was better.
This one seals great for myself, and it does a fine job of cancelling out noise. So well I have to put on ambient mode lol!

Back to $149, or is it $100 for Verizon customers only?

Edit: I am dumb. Shows $100 when added to cart.

I swapped to the smallest ones. I think with them being so small, the weight is concentrated and thats what I'm feeling.

Aww, that's unfortunate to hear! These buds are (and this is my only opinion) one of the most comfortable earbuds i've used. I've used about 5-6 sets... from true wireless to wired wireless to wired. These are probably the lightest I've ever had!

Of course, this is from person to person. You're probably right, when you go smaller buds, there's less give/pillow in the earbuds, as it's SMALLER, so it's closer to the speaker's driver.

GL on your ventures! I know it definitely took me a WHILE to finally settle on something like this. (like my previous post, these buds+ aren't 100% PERFECT, but they're the closest any earbud's gotten for me, without breaking bank).
