Kids will be. All these adults that bought bikes will not be. I already see all the hiking,.walking, and cycling has subsided. And more cars on road.

26lbs. That is a heavy bike. Good bikes weigh less than half that. But of course, they cost more too.

W/o an idea on your budget and the type of riding expected, this is an impossible question to answer.
Bikes are available from $100 to $12,000+ retail, eBikes from $500-650 to w/e 5-figures themselves.

Disagree. I see lots of families and kids biking more than ever since COVID. I don't even live in a bike friendly major city.
Bikes are in huge demand and low supply. My bike was back ordered 4 weeks this summer

It's a high tensile steel frame, which makes it the heaviest choice sound. Typical for low cost kids bikes and, depending upon which you ask, this is almost a positive feature if it tires them out sooner.

The only feature that puts style over function and should be a red flag for anyone shopping this as a kids bike is the lack of a chain guard. Dumbest trend I've ever seen (unless you're a pro). I've actually had a good friend cut himself so deep with an exposed chain they had to put stitches on his Achilles tendon. And he was standing still (lifting his bike up from the street to the curb while straddling it).

Good luck!
Jon

Well, it's ok if the kids knows how to bike already. But learning it is definitely harder on a heavier bike. I do agree on the chain guard.

Heavy weight also induces a smooth steady feel and ride. Not a bad thing. All depends on your use case.

My son has the 18 version - it is heavy but he rides it just fine. He's 7 and a half years old.

It's a beautiful bike with big thick wheels. Thicker than your typical BMX wheels. Much higher, quality components than a department store bike.

Cons - only a front handlebar brake, no pedal brake.

Per your cons- That's how a good bmx bike is supposed to be. Pedal brakes limit the backpedaling ability.
