I must admit. It took me a few years for my brain to make the Banjo/Ukulele connection.

I've played both YL games, all the BK games, and never once made this association. Mind blown.

It really tries to follow the Banjo Kazooie upgrade system, but I found myself to get bored of the game very quickly. The worlds are very very large, where a lot of the time you're just walking for 10-15 minutes for one book page, while other times it takes like 5-10 seconds for another page. I think it's the inconsistency to difficulty that I don't like.

This is the side scroller. Are you talking about the original YL?

Is this game fun for the casual player or is it only for someone who is into switch indie titles and japanese comics?

It's fun for casual. Think of it like Rayman where you wander around an overworld and jump into mini-worlds. The overworld is 3D and has obstacles you have to solve while the mini-worlds are side-scrolling. At first I was underwhelmed but it quickly grew on me. I will say the final boss, the "impossible layer" if you will, was pretty dang tough.

I've heard that it is Super Meat Boy difficulty range.
