Bought these for about 20 dollars more a while back and they did great for our move. I have one in the back of the car for our dog and use the other ones for forts with the kid. Only issue I have with them is they are advertised as washable, but the few I've needed to wash started shedding after first wash (followed directions on tag), still usable but has patches now where it looks like a typical moving blanket. At this price not a huge issue and would still recommend, but just a heads up.

Damn, if I expected to move anytime soon I'd probably invest in these. Less than $5 each sounds impressive.

Do you think it's a dust magnet, that can't be vacuum-cleaned easily? Planning to use them to cover the shelves in the garage. TIA

What a deal to run into. I'll be moving soon and, though I don't need 12, these will come in handy!

very good price, but it is hardly to say we need it. Rent one set when you are moving seems more helpful. Except you move very frequently.

I plan on putting some in the trunk of my car and my wife's car for protecting things in the trunk (i.e., propane tank) or just in case I need an emergency blanket, put one outside in our backyard over the concrete as an exercise mat for my son's heavybag stand and for him to workout on and use it when we go to the beach or a picnic. Cheers!!!

Keep an eye on Facebook/Craigslist for moving blankets if you know you're moving in the future. I got tons of free boxes and about 20 blankets for $20. Obviously YMMV.

I have a couple I use for changing oil and working on vehicles. Gives you a little padding when lying down on your back.

I've rented those and there's no comparison in terms of quality. I have even used these types of blankets to slide heavy furniture across tile flooring single-handedly. I don't anticipate an upcoming move, but if I did I'd definitely bite.

Anybody have any experience with the outer cover of these flaking/decomposing after a while?

The set I got from Amazon 3 years ago is now falling apart and leaving dust and flakes everywhere (have not washed them or left them in the sun).
