I received the below email today from Google Play Music []:

Music store on Google Play
Starting in 30 days, the Music store on Google Play will go away. It won't be possible to purchase music on Google Play anymore, and all pre-orders will be canceled. Once you transfer, your purchases will move with you to YouTube Music.
More on that here:

When is the Google Play Store shutting down?
Starting mid-August, the Music store on Google Play will gradually begin to shut down for members and you will no longer be able to make music purchases or pre-orders. You will be able to transfer all your existing music purchases (up to 100K songs) to YouTube Music using the transfer tool. Note– Pre-orders with a delivery date after the shut down will not be fulfilled, and you will not be charged. In case this happens, you will be notified via email of any pre-orders that have been cancelled.

I do not want to pay for a streaming service and would like to buy individual songs & albums instead. How can I do this on YouTube Music?
While you cannot purchase music from YouTube Music, you can do so from another store and upload that music into YouTube Music. This way, you can have your entire music library in one place. Note that you can play uploaded songs in the background, ad-free and offline with a free YouTube Music subscription. More on that here.
1) if there's an album or songs there that you haven't been able to find anywhere else you better buy it now (start with your wishlist if you've made one)
2) if something is cheaper on Google Play music than elsewhere you better buy it now
3) any albums you've already purchased - download them now while you still can

So I mentioned Final Fantasy and Tekken in the title. Here's why:
Final Fantasy VII Remake soundtrack $16.49
Compare to Amazon $27.93

Tekken - there's a bunch of albums (like Tekken 3, 4, 5, Tekken Tag 1, Tekken Tag 2) for $4.99 on Google Play that are more expensive on Amazon. For example compare Tekken 5 which is $11.98 on Amazon

It's not just Final Fantasy and Tekken either. Take for example Shenmue $6.99 vs $8.99

or Akumajo Dracula X (Castlevania) $7.99 vs $11.98

These all happen to be soundtrack examples - I didn't know they were available on Google Play until earlier this year and noticed they were cheap so I wishlisted several albums (historically this kind of stuff has had both availability and price going against it). After getting the email notice I bought them all up. But maybe there are some non-soundtrack albums that are priced better on Google than elsewhere - if you've been thinking of buying something check while you can.
Good deal?

Everyone having Google Play Music received the email, and there will be more emails to follow up before your music library will be deleted.
