Bought this last time and ended up returning it. No parental controls and no way of disabling WPS.

Is this better than the Best Buy/B&H deal from a few days ago on the Linksys MR9000 ? I have the MR9000 on backorder with B&H, so if this is better I'll cancel and get this. Thanks.

Why buy this when you can get three Deco M9 mesh for the same price?

Not everyone needs a mesh. For relatively smaller space, single router performs better than a mesh. Besides deco M9 is wifi 5 and this router is wifi 6.

I agree with most of what you said but few people needs WiFi 6. Also, why do you think single router performs better in a small space?

I do have WiFi 6 clients....is this worth upgrading to from the R7500 X4S? Will I get similar wifi coverage? Worried it won't cover a 2500 Sq ft home...

I have the MR9000 and use it as the parent in my mesh system (in bridge mode) with three additional Velop nodes spread throughout my house. I couldn't do that with this Netgear alone. Although I do use a Netgear R6900 as my main router (with its wireless shut off) because I like their free Circle parental controls.

If you only need a single router for coverage, then this may be better since it's Wifi 6. Don't know for sure though since I haven't looked at the specs, features, etc. It doesn't seem to have good reviews and doesn't include their Circle parental controls.

I have an old surfboard SBG6580 modem/router combo that doesn't give me great, not even good WiFi coverage in my 2000 sq ft 2 story home.

Will this give me better coverage if I connect this and disable the WiFi from the combo unit or should I upgrade the modem too since the combo unit is so old? Any specific recommendations would be appreciated.

Which router do you recommend keeping for parental controls?
I've read good things about ASUS (free lifetime malware protection, parental control etc.).

I've mainly used ASUS. I didn't activate the trend micro stuff it comes with but you can still use the scheduling part to turn off WiFi access for specific devices during time blocks you choose. Netgear parental controls are either through circle or opendns. Opendns is available to anyone so if going netgear I'd probably look for one that comes with circle.

I read that OpenDNS parental controls have one big limitation. They are per USER but NOT per DEVICE. That can be difficult to enforce at home.

Are there any NetGear models that include Circle for FREE?
