I have this snow blower, and have been using it for a few years now. It has not been a great ownership experience.

Cable mounts have broken, control cables have broken, the transmission is wonky (no low speed settings anymore, so walk fast!) and at the end of last season the transmission locked up completely. That may be a fairly easy fix once I get around to it, but I'm frustrated enough with all the small crap with this unit that I'm just going to buy a better brand.

The engine provided with this unit has always run well though. Its the stuff they surrounded it with that is junk.

Thank you! That's something I don't want to be messing with when it's the middle of winter with snow on the ground

I purchased one of these a few years back and as stated above, not worth the cost savings. I have been really disappointed, the cables rattled off, it's starting to rust after 3 years and the transmission makes a weird noise. Customer service is non existent. I'd run from this blower!

At this price, I would recommend looking for a used Ariens two stage or even a new Toro single stage over a no named brand like this. You get what you pay for.

If you are in Utah - Smith's has 4x's points on gift cards - if you buy $500 gift card from Home Depot you get 2 - $35.00 worth of free gas. Makes it a great deal.

I usually like to go with deals but a snowblower is something that takes a beating in extreme temps. I went with an ariens and spent about double this, but the ariens has always started with 1 pull in the 5 years i've owned and never failed me in very unpleasant weather.

Fyi consumer reports did not give this brand a good score. Infact its one of the two lowest scored brands. I don't usually use cr to pick a item but i do use them to know what not to pick.
