Before anyone calls this ObamaPhone, note that this program came into being during the George W. Bush administration. It's a great deal obviously... Even more generous than a $10 plan at Tello or Boost. Perhaps a bit too generous for being free.

With assurance there is a limit on data. Like 1 or 2 gb

For Assurance Wireless:

You can also qualify based on your household income. If you are unemployed, you can use your Unemployment Benefit Letter as proof of eligibility until 8/31/20.

Assurance Wireless will do the same, but up to 7GB (in CA at least)... 5GB in CA, plus you may get the add'l. 2GB bonus in CA, at least.

FYI, AW belongs to T-Mobile now, and I can't wait for the push-over to GSM from CDMA for the former Sprint/Virgin Mobile carrier service.

I am using a free flip-phone from Safelink. As far as I know, there is no option to replace it with another flip-phone.

If you use Hello Mobile, it is the same company as Q Link, at least same owner.

On the website, they asked to choose "LTE" when connecting to the internet. So I guess you got it.

I am not qualified for this program. I am posting this just for information only.

Do you know if I can bring my existing T-Mobile prepaid number over to Assurance Wireless?

Edit: I called them to ask. Yes, I can bring my T-Mobile prepaid number over. And no, I can't use my own iPhone. I have to use the phone they provide or buy one of theirs. Q-Link seems like a better deal.
