Then downvote this useless thread. It is targeted to a specific audience
So only the deals available to everyone could be posted on SD website??

You downvoted because you can not benefit. This is for people who are in need, not for you.

By the way, I am not qualified as well

Assurance Wireless will do the same, but up to 7GB (in CA at least)... 5GB in CA, plus you may get the add'l. 2GB bonus in CA, at least.

http://AssuranceWireless.com

FYI, AW belongs to T-Mobile now, and I can't wait for the push-over to GSM from CDMA for the former Sprint/Virgin Mobile carrier service.
How are you getting the 2 Gb bonus? I thought the 5GB in California already includes the bonus(standard is 3GB)

Why on earth is this posted as a deal?

Maybe I should post that my state has unemployment benefits too.
Yeah I don't know why either. This isn't even new either, quite old actually

I am using a free flip-phone from Safelink. As far as I know, there is no option to replace it with another flip-phone.
It's easy to swap phones on Safelink once you have activated a sim. Don't go through CSR, they will tell you they don't support it. I've used several unlocked phone swaps usually by simply swapping sims and restart.

Even my $129 LG V40 has a full LTE hotspot on VZW tracfone sim if I wanted to abuse it, but I wouldn't. I can see this working for home schooling hot spot, better than nothing.

I've set up several craigslist buyers on Qlink with my old Sprint Prepaid, the ones from Ringplus and Tello. Assurance used to be very limited on phone selection. Best to stay clear of customer service, most will drive you crazy and not helpful.

edit, If your flip doesn't have a sim then you have to go through the system with a new tracphone, I used my new Samsung J7 and they have all three sims, I chose VZW in this area over ATT and Sprint. Once that sim is working then you are free to use unlocked phones.

Assurance provides 3GB and yes I have to use a government phone so they can monitor all your info.
I intend to only use this line solely for gov/legal related purposes/people who already know my identity: Medicaid, doctors, dentists, cable companies, landlord, etc. For my personal life, I'll use a different phone/line. I'm fully prepared for them to track/record/save/analyze/sell all the data from this free line.

I'm glad this deal was posted because I had no idea such a thing existed. However, after doing some research, I went with a different provider:

How is it possible you might ask? The cell carriers are passing this cost into PAYING customers by jacking up below the line fees on service, YES even prepaid will see higher USF and REGULATORY RECOVERY FEES as a result. The fees are in part why I cancelled OOMA VoIP. Every other month, up a few cents...
I don't mind paying taxes/fees if it helps those in need keep in touch with their families or be able to be reachable for job interviews. For some, it can be life-changing. Just like I don't mind paying taxes to support school eventhough I don't have children in public schools. I don't mind mind paying taxes to provide EBT to those in need or provide Health Care to those who cannot afford it. I believe in the greater good not always what's only good for me. Anyone in a position that doesn't qualify should be thankful that they are in a better position and should show a bit of empathy and compassion to those who are in desperate need. Caring about the most vulnerable of Americans is patriotic.

Hi thanks for the info. I'm hoping you can help me. My mom qualifies and she lives in a qualified service area for SafeLink. She has an unlocked iPhone 7. The only carrier that really works in near her home is Verizon, she's currently using Xfinity Mobile (on Verizon's network). How do I get her set up on SafeLink under Verizon's network? Thank you!

I only know what works here, don't know anything about iphones, that may be different. It's been awhile, I was just surprised to find a newer tracfone would work. I think I went through the normal process on Safeline website to swap phones. So maybe you could just get a tracfone sim kit and try that on your iphone. Otherwise you have to pass the first test with a qualifying phone, even if they deny it works. I think that samsung J7 tracfone is under fifty bucks now at BB. Maybe you could snag something like that on CL for less. Now I have several backups since I've swapped J7, Moto Z3 Play and now the fancy but fragile LG V40. It's nice to have data when I need it but I rarely leave the house nowadays. haha, just realized the V40 has a useless
google search button on the side. I'm kinda slow. laugh out loud
