Need some guidance- I am looking for a server with approx 10-16 TB OF space . i use it primarily as my media access using plex - I use a old synology nas which has very low memory and is not upgradable . I was looking at latest 4 drive nas which runs approx $700 . I have a stand alone computer which is used for plex server and file server . My current synology set up is very slow even using their software to upload photos and access them . Will using this external drive with computer make faster access to media?

I recently purchased a WD Elements external HDR, 8 TB. Had to return it because it was overheating, un-schucked.

So, I'm not sure now if the WD external drives are better than Seagate's...

I bought this drive two days ago on Prime. It's super quiet and has been running full diagnostics and transferring 14TB of data since it arrived.

Cool to the touch. Would recommend.
