Cables either work for your purposes, or they don't. Why would you want thicker cables when thinner ones can do what you need?
Thicker cables = more clutter and worse airflow.

I'd prefer higher gauge for short distance, high density areas such as inside a home entertainment cabinet with several devices connected to a switch.
The Monster Cable sales pitch. 😀

34awg. No go for me. Newer decent cables are all 28awg. Plus no certifications.

Ultra Slim Series??
People have a need for slim HDMI cables??
I figured with cables... the thicker the better.

True and I won't be getting it. But if it is tested for 18gbps it should be ok. It is not just gauge, but the combination of gauge + length. For 10ft+, I am guessing 34awg won't be enough.

34awg is not good for reliable 60hz. 6ft is maximum. Look up 24awg for around same price.

It's not just about the guage. I just ordered 36 AWG Certified Premium HDMI. They're guaranteed to support all HDMI 2.0 features including HDCP 2.2.

These ones DON'T state certified though, so who knows.

I have these cables in a few different lengths, running video from PCs and Raspberry Pis to displays, they're great.
