Don't know anything about this brand, but the style looks very Breitling Super Ocean-ish... The fact that it's Swiss Made does make it's style copying a bit more impressive, though... esp at only $300 and change.

EDIT -- ahhhh, there we go, thanks Google. It *is* a historic Swiss watch company, but the biggest Breitling copier of them all, Invicta, apparently bought them and well, 'nuff said about the similarity to the Super Ocean.

I thought Incivta was a Rolex copier.

Guys seriously, get a life.

As for the deal, Glycine are good watches but those "normal" prices are way inflated. These sale prices are pretty much their everyday prices on jomashop.

Not a bad price at all for movement and sapphire. Just wish they weren't so large. The combat subs would make great beaters at 36-38mm... Make sense invicta bought them and upsized everything. Invictas are absolute monstrosities

Take a look at their Invicta "wing design" symbol... much, much closer to Breitling's design than the Rolex crown.

The Pro Diver is basically a submariner ripoff.

Well, I don't disagree, but what watch co hasn't ripped off the Submariner design? That's a bit like accusing one single car company of ripping off the Audi "horse shoe" grill design... who hasn't ripped off that front clip design by now?

I think Invicta was (clearly) trying to copy Breitling's "winged B" logo when they created the Invicta logo.

Also, special mention to the upstart Hyundai Genesis brand copying the legendary (previously British) Bentley marque logo.

While I agree that the Invicta MSRP inflation is absurd, at these prices, Glycines are a very good value. That said, these prices are not exceptionally slick, and are available all the time from Joma or Ashford.

With regard to the size, the Combat Sub 42mm wears smaller than that; the slim case (about 11mm thick) and curved lugs are quite nice. The Combat 6 and moonphase come in a smaller 36mm size as well, which is uncommon with other manufacturers at this price point.

The market price for a new Glycine Combat Sub is between 250-300 USD. Glycine is a Swiss brand with great heritage and their designs are unique to them.

Invicta buying the brand hasn't changed the design or quality of their watches. The Combat Subs come with an ETA 2824, which is phenomenal at this price point.

Glycine had decent heritage, but that was 3 acquisitions ago. But they havent had a single innovative product since 1968. The one and only thing the current Glycine has in common with the historic Glycine, is the trademark.

A year after Invicta bought Glycine, they released an oversized 46mm purple skeletonized version of their most historic Airman line. It was priced at $6400 and immediately went on sale for 90% off. Keep trying to tell people Invicta hasn't changed the design/quality.

At this point, calling a dive watch a "submariner ripoff" is like calling a pair of jeans a "Levi's ripoff."

Rolex defined a style that became nearly universal. Close to 100% of "dive watches", from any manufacturer, will resemble the Submariner. I can think of a few exceptions but not many!

As far as I can tell, the Airfighter launched in 2014 a year before Invicta bought the brand. It has always been 46mm, and it's lack of popularity reflects it's poor styling. The current Airman and Combat Subs stay pretty darn true to the heritage designs and are well respected.

I don't like anything Invicta touches either, but Glycine does give great options under 350USD for a great looking swiss automatic with some heritage. I despise the ridiculously high suggested retail price vs. actual market price. This is absolutely a reflection of Invicta purchasing them.
