She is right. Dreadful TV. I spend 30 minutes in Costco trying to calibrate it (I stole the remote from behind the TV) and could not even get a true red. Just awful.

Tom hardware called the 6 series the DULL tv of the year.

As far as better, it will still have the dull colors but better contrast but Hisense or TCL or Vizio has their problems. I prefer unique Samsung models only sold at Costco with special features.

Damm...you could have bought the Costco 740 65 inch TV from Costco for 479 bucks with wide color gamut, bixby remote, uses the same film panel technology as the 8 series with MEGA contrast and NO DSE. Zero DSE. Basically it a hybrid model of the 7 and 8 series and only sold at one store in the entire USA.. or sold to the elite snobs in Europe. Rare TV model made ,

.I know....I got it. Great TV. Looks as good as OLED without the deep blacks...hey..its only 479 bucks. Watching NHL playoffs...no DSE..no banding..no blooming..no dark corners. and...since this one of those unique models....the panel is made by Samsung and has wide viewing angles. (Samsung outsources it panels to TCL..sharp..etc...we call it panel lottery). Mine came with FA01 panel which is Samsungs rare and best version.

STOP..LOL

So much falsehood and conjecture in your statement about performance Samsung panels etc

60hz TV..no Quantum Dots, lower level picture processing, brightness level etc etc
Its a lower end Samsung

And I dont know where Elite Snobs are buying anything but flagship models??

I know I'm a little late here, but I bought this when it was about this price a few months ago and ended up returning it.

Android tv is TERRIBLE. The interface is so slow it is unbelievable. Like, even turning the volume up and down had a delay it was miserable. I returned it and got the roku tv version for a little more and am much happier.

Just my 2c.

The picture quality is outstanding bit my goodness the Android TV is ridiculously slow on this tv. If you plan on using a Chromecast or Roku separately this tv is highly recommended.
I did buy their 65 android tv. I love it. Some tweaks - turn on developer options, turn off animations etc. Maybe even turn off the inbuilt Chromecast and Google search... Does wonders and our TV doesn't lag at all.

I have the 65 inch version of this TV. Android TV is 100% garbage. It is unbearably slow.

If you must absolutely buy this TV, I highly recommend getting a Roku with it.
I did some tweaking and I have so many apps installed and no lag, nothing. Look for ways to turn off animations etc. Does wonders.

Android TV is amazing UNLESS the tv maker guts it and powers it with a hamster as we have here. Then it is effectively dead on arrival. DO NOT BUY for the Android that is built in. Wait for the new Android Chromecast, or get an nvidia shield, or maybe even a firestick, but you will dislike strongly what this TV is giving you.
What if I just want it to give me a TV?

Two probably dumb questions:

1) How much of the RTing review for the 6570F should we assume will hold true here? I noticed newer isn't always better on some other threads here.

2) The android issues are non-issues if you use a fire stick or Roku etc right? I'd assume so but the volume of complaints are concerning!

I would like to have some more detailed analysis of the android TV component of this set, ideally on youtube to see things like app opening times, ideally show a side loaded browser... I watched the H9G videos and you can only see android running briefly and it looks fine.

What do you want to watch on it? Actual TV? Like with an antenna plugged in? Seems like that should be good.

Do you want to want to watch youtube? netflix? These are where the android TV performance starts to come into play.

Overall for the price it was a good deal. Contrary to comments above the android interface and remote are extremely fast and responsive. Picture (after some tweaking) is also great for the price. The sound however leaves something to be desired and is too tinny and in need of more bass and balance. Sound controls unfortunately don't offer much customization.

Picked one up last night for a spare bedroom I'm converting into a game room/theater room for my daughter and her friends. I'm picky about video quality-I had a Kuro and now LG OLED as my main tv-but I thought for this purpose and $500 it was worth the plunge. Here's my mini review:

CONS: I don't like LCD's as a technology and even though this is a VA panel and supposedly has full array dimming, it's still not anything approaching black in a dark room, but for a cheap lcd it's pretty good and you can turn down the backlight to help it even more. There is some backlight bleed which leads to some uniformity issues but for most content it's not noticeable. Sound is tinny, but it's what I expected and I'm going to get a sound bar anyway. I have some experience with Android TV with a Xiaomi Box I have and though it's my least favorite interface, it seemed to perform just fine for basic stuff, if you need more just buy a dedicated box.

PROS: for $500 and 70" it's a really nice set if you temper your expectations. HDR content looks good, there some fairly advanced picture settings you can adjust, I hooked up the PS4 and there was no lag. Android TV is super simple to add Kodi and apps like that so it that makes up for its poor interface a bit. All in all it's a "cheap" TV and it's noticeably bare bones in the construction, fit, and finish but it doesn't have the picture quality of a cheap TV and ultimately that's all that matters.

Any TV experts have feedback on this F series vs the one OP posted vs the LG? I would like to get one of these but confused about what. I dont think i will notice the difference in picture quality between a entry level vs a $3K OLED unless watching them right next to each other so the best among these three would be good enough
I think Roku is better than Android. Android collects too much information from users.

Out of stock months ago. Best 500 dollar TV period if you hate DSE.(I own plasma)

I get a good samsung over most of these TV if you get one those cool model Costco has...its normally odd series panel they sometimes get but it has lots more goodies. You get the quality of the 8 series at the 7 series price.

Yeap, I have no idea either. Bummer.

My biggest problem in setting up a TV is which side to face the couch.

My other problem is I bought a box of nitrile gloves and it took me 4 pulls of the box until I got a right handed glove.

Livin the dream

Watchin NHL dal versus col. nice white ice...no DSE ....on my Samsung TV. Should have bought Hisense since I heard it comes with free DSE.
