Newegg finally refunded me, took them long enough. Bought the 2TB version of this drive got tracking # when the label was printed but status never changed from "waiting for UPS pickup". Every CSR I spoke to gave me the runaround. To those buying, hope you don't have to deal with what I did.
I remember when Newegg had excellent customer service. Those days sadly are long gone.

Because he asked a stupid question and didn't like the stupid answer...
The answer isn't stupid though - converting from HD to SSD isn't going to help with the cooling.

I don't like Newegg anymore. They sneak in shipping cost at the end on many items when Amazon made me expect 2 day free shipping... Newegg says exchange only when every other retailer takes returns on all hardware items, and they take forever to process refund or exchanges...
I'm speaking from experience just a month ago - purchased a monitor, which arrived with damaged screen. I reported in 3 days after receiving because I hadn't opened it yet. They wouldn't refund flat out said no and their site actually shows exchange only too, so I agreed to exchange. Took them nearly 1 week to "approve" exchange, then 2.5 additional weeks to process the exchange and ship the replacement monitor. They had received the item back within 3 days of "approval" of exchange. So they sat on it for over 2 weeks... that's what really irked me.

You literally asked if it helps cool your PS4. I answered that this isn't a cooling solution.

Why are you so mad?

who's saying this is a cooling solution? I'm not retarded I know what a ssd is. if a ssd has no moving parts one would think it produces less heat that a mechanical drive
you asked if it would cool your ps4, and then went on to talk about thermal paste,,,,

So you never opened it but you knew it was damaged?

It may sound random to you, but the reason for that is the number of NAND chips on the board. I dont know the arrangement, but say if you had to lay down sets of 2 (for example) of 60 GB NANDS, then the closest you can get to 1000 GB is 16x60=960. The next number up is 18x60=1080. I have not heard of a company that will give you more product for less money (or at a loss). So 960 it is....

To be fair a SSD will produce less heat than a spinning hard drive which should somewhat help the overall heat problem.
