You literally asked if it helps cool your PS4. I answered that this isn't a cooling solution.

Why are you so mad?
Because he asked a stupid question and didn't like the stupid answer...
Phison S11 DRAM-less controller. Either SanDisk or Toshiba 64L NAND. The GX2 version has the SM2258XT controller and Micron 64L NAND.

I would actually grab one. Poeple buy this expecting it to perform as a high end almost double the price one. But for this price come on! How bad could it be!?

has anyone tried this on a ps4 pro? does it help with the cooling? I cleaned mine and used a quality thermal paste and pads and it was silent at first for a few weeks but it's starting to sound like a jet engine again
This is SSD we are talking about, so nope, it will not help cooling, but it's better than HDD if you compare the temperature, HDD using pin to read/write, it does produce heat, but SSD is different story, usually good temp is about 40C. You can open up the SSD case and get the thermal paste on controller for better temp, but you can't do with HDD. Anyway, the problem with ps4 is not on the CPU if you get the new thermal paste, did you clean the fan as well? If you did clean the dust, I will assume that your ps4 need to change the temp indicator, I'm not sure if it's a chip or a controller. Just saying the average console is about 4 years before it's gone.

Edit: from google search, the engine sounds is normal, it's what ps4 desired. I guess you are on ps4 pro gen1, they have gen2 for at least 1 year already?

This isn't a cooling solution, it's a storage drive.
No single storage device is going to push overall system temps over the edge.

who's saying this is a cooling solution? I'm not retarded I know what a ssd is. if a ssd has no moving parts one would think it produces less heat that a mechanical drive
You think a 2.5" mechanical drive is what is creating the excess heat that causes your system fans to ramp up?

Newegg finally refunded me, took them long enough. Bought the 2TB version of this drive got tracking # when the label was printed but status never changed from "waiting for UPS pickup". Every CSR I spoke to gave me the runaround. To those buying, hope you don't have to deal with what I did.
