Depends upon what kind of coding you are referring? If you are just doing basic programming then may be a better quality Ultrabook with AMD 6 Core or 8 Core 4000 series CPU will be better choice.

Is the screen on this one of those low color gamut screens? I really want to get close to 90%+ sRGB.

Then this is not your device. This is strictly a gaming panel with 60% sRGB.

I need two laptops for my sons that are going to stay home and do virtual school. They love to play games, so it needs to be decent. Everything I am reading says they should be able to play pretty well on this unit. Anyone suggest a better option for $680 a pop. I need two so I cant break the bank.
Thanks for any advice

Not sure 250 nits should be listed as a feature.

One of the reviews mentioned a " dark " screen and that he didn't recommend it because the screen "sucks"

The specifications for these machines is pretty decent for the price overall but it's a better deal much right now when laptops are in such high demand. Whether or not these will be good for your son's games is unknown since we don't know what kind of games they play. That being said, the GTX 1650TI graphics processor in this laptop is decent enough to play most games at medium to medium-high quality. These specifications overall are really quite good on a budget.

It's overpowered for coding, you buy this laptop because you tell your parents you need it for coding but really want to do some gaming and skip class.

I guess this got downvoted due to screen, right? Otherwise rest of the specs really line up with all others in this range, except the ram, which should be an easy upgrade, even 1650 (non Ti) models are this range like Asus and Acer and Legion laptops, I guess they have better IPS screens?

Gaming panel doesn't mean low color gamut. A cheap gaming panel might, however. I guess with a low end GPU like the 1650Ti you'd expect the display to be low end as well.
