Heads Up: Starting Sep 17th, 2020 - GeForce RTX 30 Series Bundle Brings You Watch Dogs: Legion and a 1-Year GeForce NOW Subscription for FREE

Enjoy,

This is a win-win deal for a major upgrade (if the confirmation and early leak benchmarks are true) and for those who are on the fence about buying the game. The free GeForce NOW sub is just a cherry on top. Obviously, used market will be flooded with cheap 20 series cards. A quick look on Ebay will give you a good $500-ish 2080 TI [wccftech.com], which was previously a $1200-ish flagship card. History repeats itself.

Official Announcement
[nvidia.com]

Official YouTube Game Trailer [youtube.com]

"... If you purchase one of these new GPUs or a pre-built GeForce RTX 30 Series PC at a participating partner, you'll get a PC digital download copy of Watch Dogs: Legion, and a 1-year subscription to our GeForce NOW cloud gaming service, enabling you to play your PC games on other devices and when you're away from home.

This offer extends only to select GPUs made by NVIDIA and our partners, and is available only at participating retailers and e-tailers, a full list of which will be available on our GeForce RTX 30 Series Bundle homepage come September 17th. So before you buy, be sure to check that your purchase is eligible for the bundle...."

and more info here [culturedvultures.com]

"...The offer will last up until October 29th, and its available at participated retailers. Word of warning though, the GeForce Now code will need to be redeemed by November 30th, and the one year period will begin from the moment its activated, so you've got a bit of wiggle room to get your RTX 3000 series set up before you make use of that code...."

Also, check out 3090 [nowinstock.net], 3080 [nowinstock.net], and 3070 [nowinstock.net] in-stock tracker.

and for your reference, Ebay 3090 [ebay.com], 3080 [ebay.com] and 3070 (TBA).

Yah I'm hearing the right move would be the 3080. What CPU and Mobo do you recommend with it?
You do not NEED a new motherboard or a new CPU. A pcie 3 mobo may throttle a 3080a few percent, but not enough to warrant dropping hundreds more dollars. Get a 3080 (assuming your PSU has enough power) then get a whole new pc in a couple of years.

people buy into the marketing hype like crazy, gamers are pretty gullible.

i picked up a 1080ti after the bitcoin bubble burst for pennies on the dollar years ago, and its been rocking 4k games for years. people will now bend over for the 3000 series, while the 2080/etc will also rock for pennies on the dollar.

i might just snag a used 2080ti in a few months if Cyberpunk turns out to be too much for my 'aging' 1080ti.
Okay, I'll bite, I can afford $700 for a new GPU and I want Raytracing. So what?

Your situation doesn't mean anything to anyone else.

I cant find confirmed info if these 30 series gpu have the new 12pin connector. Anyone have any info on it?

And are Founder Editions the same as 3rd party vendors gpus? I always thought the 3rd party perform better than than the FE.

Kind of odd offering 2 opposing tech. Why would someone want a 30xx when they have Nvidia Now vice versa. Nvidia Now isn't for mobile gaming, it actually works way better on your PC and Nvidia Shield TV. So instead of buying games and a high spec machine you can game on a high spec cloud gaming PC. If you only game casually then skip getting a PC and just do Nvidia Now and works on Mac too.

Because it means I can do high end gaming on my laptop when I'm away from home.

Are you sure on the CPU part?? It's an i7 6700k... I'd love to save some money!

Yes I'm good on the PSU part, it's a 1000 watts

So many people selling their 20s on offer up for more than u can get a 30 series. They going to lose soo much money.
It's flooded with 20xx series cards and asking for quite a premium.... quite a bit of "new" ones too... haircuts all around. But... there are suckers born everyday.

Yep, I don't think most people need a high end PC with a great GPU. Just get whatever PC, Mac, and you can game with Nvidia Now from anywhere. But the better the connection the better it performs. No need to pay for games. I think it's not cost effective for casual gamers to spend $1500+ on a gaming PC just to play 3-6 games a year.

You might as well go with whichever cpu is the latest. I dont see the point of going to 8th gen intel and having to upgrade again in 3-4 years. You will be buying everything used if you are going 2-3 gens below current.
I made the switch from intel to amd and been happy about it. I have 3900x with x570 msi tomahawk MB. I am barely surviving on a 1060 so will be jumping to a 3080 hopefully soon.

Your cpu will be the bigger bottleneck than your mobo for a 3080, especially gaming at 4k

Sold my RTX 2080 Ti for $900 just last week, paid $1000 two years ago, so I'm just debating on whether I go full hog with an RTX 3090 or get the small upgrade with the RTX 3080. In the meantime I'm gaming on a 1080p monitor again with a Radeon 570 and really it ain't that bad!

Just a piece of advice for anyone thinking about 4K, the grass isn't always greener. If you are looking to upgrade from 1080p to a higher resolution, I would definitely recommend going 1440p, it is the sweet spot in terms of price to performance. The only way I would go 4K is if you are using an Ultrawide WQHD monitor or a 43 inch 4K monitor (like myself).

Anyone have experience with microcenter? I finally live near one. Think they will be sold out right away when they release?
They always price gouge in the early months from my experience and stock is iffy (probably because associates buy them and resell them on eBay). This has been my experience from two locations, one in MA and one in NJ and both experiences were identical.

Have you got a source for this? I'd be interested to read if so.

Edit - I'm aware this is the case for MS Flight Sim but I didn't think this extended elsewhere

Their pricing makes a lot more sense this generation. I feel bad for the ppl they took for $1200 for a 2080 that's about to be beat by a $700 3080
The 2080 ti was $1200, not the 2080. I'm not mad about buying the 2080 ti. Been playing 4k@60Hz for 2 years. I'm glad more people are going to get a 2080 ti for $500! I'm on the hunt for a 3090!
