This is so tempting but I am addicted to Animal Crossing now and don't seem to have much time for anything else.
One reason I'll never play an AC game. They're time/production sinkholes.

I was in when there were originally rumors that they were remastering both Mario Galaxy games and putting them in a bundle. Without Galaxy 2, I'm not so sure I'm getting this now. Mario 64 and Sunshine are great games to replace it, but I've already played those to death when I was a kid. I never finished either Galaxy game so I wanted another chance to get into both. Oh well.
I heard it was just 64 (and maybe Sunshine) that was getting remastered. Because they're 5:4 aspect ratio and low polygons/textured games. Galaxy 1 and 2 still looks good. Just need an up-red. I can't imagine Nintendo putting in the effort to master all of them. But yeah I was disappointed 64 is just an up-res port. No more hype on rumors for me. Lol. Not sure why no Galaxy 2. Wonder what's going on behind the scene with that choice.

Nintendo just keeps putting out same games. I get they are great, but I've purchased these before. Wish I could purchase once and move them from library to library
This is a very interesting discussion for me.

With the success of the Switch, I'm assuming they'll continue this model for years to come. Basically just updating the tablet every 3-5 years. That means digital games on your account should be with you for a long time. And will be able to move move onto the next iteration of the Switch. As long as the eShop doesn't go away. Question is, what would nintendo do to rid of it so your old Switch games aren't transferable to their newer version of the eShop. Physicals I could understand it might not be able to work on a future Switch. As cards might need to change in physical in order to meet the need for higher density chips. Though I can't imagine it'll be the next Switch. Rumors of a 64gb version is around but just too costly at the moment. Switch games probably won't reach that high yet on the next Switch. Though who knows right now.

What you're saying makes sense to me, but Nintendo has made a number of questionable decisions regarding their supply chain logistics before. At any rate, only time will tell.
I'm with PocketsThicks. I can't imagine these getting limited supply for 6 months. Standard games and not console/hardware/plastic toy. But you're right, anything's possible with Nintendo. 😆

I got a snes classic in the summer time from Nintendo's online store, the price was practically the same as msrp just with a cardboard box instead of a retail box, but yes it is pretty hard to find brand new in a retail box without paying a fortune
Go to eBay and Mercari. People are still paying $100+ for used NESC and SNESC consoles. Shame some people don't know Nintendo themselves are selling refurbs for $10 less than MSRP.

If I bought it for $30, play it, and can sell it for $30, then I got to play it for free. That's enough for me.
Except if you buy it for $30 then it's $30. If you sell it for $30 it's $30 minus high fees, buying a box and bubble wrap to ship the game (and since it's a larger, heavier LE it will require more materials and packaging so it's expensive to ship out), the high postage fees, and if the buyer doesn't scam you or return it. So you're probably really selling it for around $10 after it's all said in done so you actually end up losing most of the price by selling it for the same price you bought it for.

Sounds good, thanks for the history lesson about scalping with new and limited release titles and once again never disproved my point that you made a false/mis-leading statement that the game "absolutely permanently tanked the value" and "now no one cares about the game". Both inaccurate statements with the price fetching more than MSRP, used. You also cannot predict the rarity of something 20-30 years later after it's been OOP. Like with books, 1st edition printings will usually fetch a higher price than re-prints even though it's functionally the same.
It has tanked in value since then and never recovered. And yes, no one does talk about this game anymore like they did before. And if you sold it now you'd be losing money after fees and shipping so it's not really worth more. I don't see how any of this is misleading or how you misunderstood it.

He can sell it on OfferUp. I have sold and purchase many games via this app. No fees and cash. So easy to sell and fast too.

No need for the sarcasm, I'm only replying to the statement you made which is not exactly accurate. So I'll just respond directly to each statement you posed.

"Remember when Super Mario All Stars for the Wii was released as a "Limited Edition" and everyone bought copies of it thinking it was going to be super rare one day..."

Yes, I member, my member berries told me. I never bought it new though.

"Until they released a "Nintendo Selects" "Non-Limited" edition a few years later for $19.99 MSRP and it absolutely permanently tanked the value"

No, it didn't "absolutely permanently tanked the value" as you stated, it still fetches $35+ resell.

"and now no one cares about the game?"

People apparently care about it because they're still purchasing it for $35+ as I stated above.

Additionally, not all future value is always obtained in 10 years. Which is how long it's been since it released. As to why I said you don't really know if in 10-20 years there will be that many good condition copies floating around. Lastly, anyone really looking to make a quick profit on video games is probably flipping immediately any taking advantage of holiday seasons where there's not enough stock to go around.
Not directed at you but the idea of games shouldn't be an investment.

I can work one day at McD and make more than I would selling a few copies during holiday 2021. I'd never have my money tied up for that long hoping they're worth a extra couple of bucks in a year. People get this idea that their stuff will fetch such and such because they seen too many Pawn Stars episodes. You can make a case for the NES/SNES era. But these days, EVERYONE'S doing it.

Got it preordered and paid off at GameStop for $28 after two Wii games trade-ins and $5 off PUR. I'm amazed that Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resorts give you $33 in store credit. Got these two games at a yard sale for $1 each a year ago.
Literally saw 2 copies of Wii Sports at my Goodwill for $2 each lol

Yup 100% agree. Too much money to be made elsewhere quicker and easier right now.

I'm buying the physical regardless, but I wonder if all 3 games will be completley on the card or will it be like other compilation switch games where theres only one game on the card and then you have to download the rest...
