When you sort by lowest rating it neglects to show you the 1 egg review which makes me hesitant. That along with it being sold as a "game drive" while being a HDD likely jacks the price up when it should be closer to $70

I have the 5tb version and use it with my pc to store and travel with my games. It works great. Yes this is maybe a little over priced, but the build quality is really good and it feels rugged enough to be transported around. The aluminum cooling also works well for when you are using it hours on end.

As I often ask - what's a "game" drive?

Don't buy! It'll be less during Black Friday or better yet an extra TB.

I just got one. It's exFAT format so they call it a game drive. The 5 gig version here on SD wasn't trashed. As long as it sleeps and doesn't spin all the time I'll be happy. Should work well with a NUC.

For the price, it's ok. I think you could find a drive for a bit cheaper. BUT it still has a higher rpm than other drives

Go for this if you want to, but keep in mind the price

Main benefits of WD Black drives are faster RPM drives with longer warranties. Same as standard internal/external storage besides that.

This is a nice drive but I keep waiting on something that has usb C. I'm trying to carry less cords overall, and the usb 3 version of usb micro is so specific to this type of drive.

This one has the slow 5400rpm drive but you are correct with the warranty.

I'm looking at a picture on the WD website [westerndigital.com] and it looks like a standard micro USB3 connector. Specs list it as "Micro B" which is the same thing. You can even use a standard Micro USB cable (leaving the 5-pin side open) and use it at USB 2.0 speed.
