Extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil. It's best if all are organic and expeller pressed or cold pressed for minimal processing and maximum benefits. These oils provide healthy omega fatty acids and MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) that are very beneficial.

Most other oils are extracted using high temperature which causes oxidation, destroys healthy compounds, and will change the molecular characteristics. They are also processed with a chemical called hexane which is terrible for the body. You would be amazed how many foods in the grocery store use cruddy oil because the companies are cheap and figure we won't know the difference. Don't let those Mazola commercials on TV fool you that tell you canola oil is heart healthy, it's not.
research coming out on coco, even cold press etc. is not the best. we wont know either way until we are all dead, but its worth noting. the whole "good" med chain sats might not be as healthy as everyone claimed. i no longer use it. first cold pressed EVOO.

also, the whole oxidation\change the molecules thing is not a big deal, in this reguard at least. its more internet phds who wont understand the changes occur literally everywhere, and are "ok".

Genuine question, what oil is good for our health?
Avacado, olive, coconut. However there are a ton of fakes because the good old FDA doesn't regulate it. There are a few others, but these are the most common. It's also in a glass bottle. You can find it at many Costco stores. If they don't have it they usually have martinellas (not sure on the spelling) it's okay but in a plastic bottle, which will leech in to the oil. Call ahead and ask if they have chosen foods, if they don't ask them to.

Chosen Foods makes real avacado oil, its not any other oil and it's not rancid. You can google a research study on it. For olive oil, you have to do some research, but thete is some good stuff out there.

Glad you asked and I hope this helps you.

Been using canola oil for a lot of high heat cooking. It looks like most of these good oils breakdown in that enviornment(real extra virgin anything is hard to find and prohibitvely expensive for the value it provides.).Any pointers as to which one might be an healthier/tasteless option?
