Hey guys,

I hope this news would find you in a good mood. For any dissatisfied Bud 2's owners, Target has come to your rescue [forbes.com]. I hope Google, Best Buy and Walmart will soon follow suit.

Quote:
Hundreds of users have been complaining about connectivity problems in their Pixel Buds since they launched in May. The main issue appears to be intermittent audio drop outs, with the Pixel Buds struggling to maintain a connection in certain scenarios. I exclusively reported that Google planned to roll out a major feature update, alongside a fix for the audio problems, in July.
...
For those that waited for the fix and still had issues, some missed the opportunity to return their buds within the 30 day time limit. Target is now offering refunds for Pixel Bud owners who bought from its store and are still experiencing problems, despite the refund period expiring.
For owners who bought the earbuds elsewhere, Google tells me its support team is treating each complaint on a case-by-case basis. I'm yet to hear back from Best Buy and Walmart.

Cheers,
TL

That's crazy and I've been looking for deals to purchase a pair. I think I might have to pass on these.

Good news, cause mine actually got worse after the update. Either completely disconnect or stutter.

And if you are past 30 days but below 90 days, look at your credit card. Many credit cards offer purchase protection.

Yikes, I'm glad I dragged my feet on buying these. Had a bad feeling about them anyhow...Google
is horrible at hardware sometimes.

Mine did get better after update. Still get a few random drops, but they reconnect quickly (1-2 seconds). Cupping your ears with your hands still drops the connection, although that seemed to get better, as well.

Luckily I use them mostly at my desk, not working out, so the disconnections are minimal. Would not recommend these if you are planning to be doing a lot of movement while using them.

I didn't buy these but have the Sony XM3. Get drops and reconnects about once an hour or two--usually when I am adjusting them; thereby blocking the signal. Have infrequent issues with my air pods and air pod pros, too. Bluetooth is just disappointing in general. We've had it for 20 years and I have issues with every device I own. Got the Sony XM4s recently and every now and then then the audio sounds like a 16kbps mp3. Just can't win with bluetooth but love the wireless aspect so I keep trying. Was looking to try these but I think I'll pass

I love the Galaxy buds+ I picked up from Amazon warehouse used like new for $80. Maybe those at this price is a good alternative. No ear wax. Only slight smudge on one of the buds. Otherwise came with all the accessories

These comments worried me but I was waiting for the black/gray buds, finally got them and have had no issues with them. Using with a Pixel 3 XL and they've been fantastic. Glad to hear Target is taking care of customers so we'll.

I think I might just wait until the next version of Pixel Buds come out... and maybe they'll look a little more like the Galaxy Buds Live, those cute little beans.

Until then, I think I'll just keep enjoying my $40 TaoTronics SoundLiberty 79 buds.

I have had the Redmi Airdots S for a few months now and they never disconnect or stutter. They can be had for around $17. I'm just mentioning that to say that apparently you don't need really expensive hardware to make a solid connection. The earlier non S version did drop and stutter often.

I use them exclusively while working out and have never had connection issues with them. Just my experience. Edit: I have a pixel 3a.

Good to hear. I Haven't had too many issues the few times I have used them for working out either. I have just seen a lot of complaints of disconnects when people use them on a run.
