Monitor Nerds Review [monitornerds.com]

There is a concerning 1 star review on Amazon [amazon.com] that shows the back light failing, but there is a firmware update that is mentioned in the comments on that review which may resolve the issue. The original reviewer has yet to respond.

Edit: regarding the backlight issue I mentioned, this Reddit [reddit.com] thread indicates the firmware released fixed others with similar issues

That's just bad advice. 4k/120 monitors isn't going to this price for a long time. Then you would need a new gpu for that hdmi 2.1.
And what is the point of waiting for HDMI 2.1? It's just an interface It will bring no advantages in picture quality.
That's not true. The size is wonderful and everything looks great. Just do a search on the size and read any professional review. Also you can calculate dots per square inch..I think you're thinking of 1080p at this size which would suck.

I'm looking for a new monitor to use for moderate gaming, would anybody recommend this? Or something else around this price point? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Honestly unless you NEED a monitor I would just wait for HDMI 2.1 monitors to release later this year/into 2021

If you don't currently have a LG OLED with hdmi 2.1 for your computer then I don't understand why you would wait unless your willing to pay +$700 and want a 4k144hz display. If 1440p165hz is good enough at this price point for some people why wouldn't they get this at this price?

People looking for 4k144hz monitors already know they are coming, waiting, and this monitor isn't that.

So how do gigabyte monitors compare to LG or Dell etc. ? Are they budget oriented or no? Surprised nobody has mentioned the VA vs. IPS thing?

I think you can get a very similar Dell (S3220DGF) for around the same price when it's on sale..for gaming I think the consensus is VA otherwise IPS for viewing angle. The Dell one is excellent, so I'd imagine this is up there too but probably not as good a build quality. This type of screen was like $600+ not too long ago.

Here's the Dell one:

32 inches is a weird size,. At 1440 text is to big and at 4k is to small unscaled.
