For anyone worried about burn-in, the only extended warranty that covers it is the geek squad from best buy. Square trade and asurion do not.

I know warranties aren't for everyone, but buying at best buy surely helped my piece of mind (just a horrible delivery experience). And of course it does cost a bit more.

I game, so there are huds as well as watching news, which raises concerns about the screen burn-in.

because 10 bit panels do not need it.

They really do though.

HDMI 2.0 doesn't have enough bandwidth for stuff like 4:4:4 10 bit... let alone anything above 60p at 4k.

Prices on this don't seem to be dropping like the C9 did.

...no?

rtings.com comparison of various scores has em all within 0.1-0.2 of each other (some better/worse in both directions) except black frame insertion where the C9 scores an 8.7 and the CX a 10, with the CX capable of 120Hz for 120 fps, but the C9 is not....and VRR where the CX is 7.9 vs the 7.6 of the C9 since the C9 doesn't support 120Hz VRR or freesync

(the onboard speakers also score significantly better on the CX but I'd hope anybody buying this nice a TV isn't using onboard speakers anyway)
But the CX does't decode certain Dolby codecs and does 40GB instead of 48GB HDMI 2.1, which makes 4k 120 4:4:4 not possible, right? Or am I missing something?

I mean I guess some folks are running a top-end TV without an AVR to handle audio decoding... but I've no idea why.

Anyway, 40GB can absolutely do 4k 120 4:4:4.

The only 4k thing 40GB isn't enough for is 12 bit, which the panel can't do anyway.

There's some 5k and 8k resolutions you'd need more than 40GB for, but again the panel can't do them anyway.

Incorrect. It cannot decode DTS audio, and as another poster responded 40gbps HDMI 2.1 does everything but 12 bit color, which is unnecessary on this panel given it is only 10bit.

and to put more context.. all ports will only run as fast as the panel can display. only now that HDMI 2.1 has more bandwidth than we know with basically. HDMI 2.0 only does 18gbps which wouldn't have fully supported 4k60 4:4:4 rgb and hdr which is why slight compression was needed
but the 2.1 spec is so over the top
