I bought this board from Micro Center for $150 bundled with a CPU. This price is even lower, has no bundle requirement, and includes shipping. The board is decent if you're not planning to do any heavy overclocking.

BTW, you live near a Micro Center, the Asus TUF X570-PLUS is $170 when bundled with a CPU. It has one more PCI 4.0 M.2 slot, one more USB 3.2 Gen2 slot, WIFI, bluetooth. Micro Center's online spec-sheet is wrong, which prompted me to buy the B550 board from them, thinking they had nearly the same I/O support. Here are the real specs fro X570: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboa...fications/
And for this B550 board: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboa...fications/

I think you mean Ryzen Gen 3 which is the upcoming 4000 series. AMD screwed up with matching the Gen and Series numbers.

No, this is a standard ATX-sized (desktop) motherboard.

Laptops usually use vendor & model-specific boards. I think that you can only get those by sending your laptop in for repair.

I was tempted to buy the microcenter board but its EATX form factor, I'm repurposing my Antec 900 case which supports up to ATX only.

1st gen: Zen (Ryzen 1xxx)
2nd gen: Zen+ (Ryzen 2xxx)
3rd gen: Zen 2 (Ryzen 3xxx)
4th gen: Zen 3 (Ryzen 4xxx)

No, it's Gen 4, hence 4000 series, but it's Zen 3. It's confusing I know.
