i am new in monitor / tv. i need to buy a 4K monitor for work. so with this price, why should i pick monitor over a TV since both have 4k display?

Thanks.
You can use it as a monitor but text will be harder to read. Sitting so close to a big tv all the time can cause strain as well. If you're not doing anything interactive like gamine etc, the input lag should be a big deal though

My brother just picked this one up at Walmart for $225 and while he hasn't gotten to set it up yet he seems happy with his purchase.

Just opened and set up. Screen was not cracked but screen showed all messed up. Called Walmart and they initiated a replacement and freight pickup for broken TV. Easy process. Hope the next one comes in clean.

What's the better deal this one or the Walmart TCL 55" roku deal? Same price, better brand between the 2?

Stupid question - buy this or wait for Black Friday?

Also, this or TCL 55s421?

Thanks!

Wow, thank you so very much. I have a very 13 yr old 43' Samsung right now. I so need to replace it, and get overwhelmed making a decision. Every time I watch Netflix, or Prime and have to adjust the color on every movie. Many tv shows as well. I defiantly won't buy this. Thank you!
Tbh, you should probably buy it. I'm super critical, and this tv is great, especially for a 13yo. Probably too great for a 13yo...

edit opps tv is 13, not kid. i stand by my comment anyway, lol

Got this a month ago and it's ok but I loose my wifi every time I turn the TV on and off. I have to go into the network menu and search for my SSID and then it automatically connect. Very annoying. I have the refurbished ONN 50 inch i got for $125 and it doesn't do this.

I've purchased three TCL TVs, all have broken. Latest was 55" where backlight went out after 22 months. Was purchased at Costco and covered by their 2nd year warranty. They deemed it unrepairable and let me return it for full refund of $329.99 purchase price. Of note, Costco no longer sells TCL TVs.

My local Costco had no Roku TVs in stock of any brand so I ordered this Hisense from Walmart with 4 year extended warranty.

Our two other, older, TCL TVs have developed problems. 5 year old 40" occasionally goes dim, but unplugging for a while fixes it. 4 year old 32" has developed a dim horizontal stripe in top half, and also occasionally loses WiFi connection. It's also slow as molasses in the dead of winter.

I'm done with TCL. I hope that Hisense is more reliable.

Bought a 55" Hisense today and having issues with Netflix. Any show that is not a cartoon will load up with a rainbow of vertical lines and then entire show is greenish and can't see anything. Anybody hear or see this before? Searched online but can't come across a solution or even reason for this problem.

good to know that's still the case with walmart refurb replacements. Did it like five years ago with Vizio P series. Double boxed shipped to door and it's still working.

I think most tvs cut corners somewhere on the lower tier. Crummy wifi chip but that's easy to remedy with ethernet. Curtains help with reflections, articulating arm with viewing angle, ext spkrs for typical lame audio.

This wasn't a Walmart refurb replacement, this was a brand new tv.

yeah, late night and my mind was on the Walmart Price Mistake on a TCL 75"! I have this TV and check out the topic for calibration but none to be found. Hard to find even a decent review of this R6 series. Overall happy with it as side TV, not a primary display. Walmart has been pretty good to me this year with this TV and a cheap HP Omen refurb laptop.
