You don't have to use it in store first. I did it the exact opposite way. It doesn't matter which way you do it, you can use it both online and in store. I figured it easier to use online first so I didn't need to take a pic of anything. I actually waited so long to use the coupon in store after I used it online that it was literally the last day before it would expire. So no issues doing it either way. This was just last week too, so it's not like something I did 6 months ago.
Dang...now there are 2 conflict stories. I guess I'll go with my gut Smilie

What are best possible things you can buy using this coupon?
It seems most of the branded electronics are excluded.
Any suggestions?

I had the same experience as xyberz. Redeemed it online and then a few days later, redeemed the coupon in store near the expiration date. This all happened 2 weeks ago for me.

I heard stories in the previous similar Target Red Card thread where someone redeemed it in store and the cashier took the coupon and pocketed (maybe they knew that they could claim the online coupon code?).

Same. I wouldn't sweat it though.

Target excludes 5% off of previous purchases. What does this mean? You can't buy the same item and get a discount?

I'm just telling you from my own experience and not based on what another person did. Not going to say either way will work for you guaranteed but trusting your gut is usually always a good thing.

Really, with the huge list of exclusions, what is worth to buy, say the prices are at least equivalent to Amazon's, if not less?

It means you don't get a discount on orders you already made.

If applying for the debit card, no adverse effect on your credit score since there is no hard pull on your credit report.

If applying for the credit card, it will cost you 5 to 10 points on your credit score, depending on which credit bureau is pulled from.

I can also confirm when we opened a debit card for my wife. I was able to use it online and then use it in the store a few weeks later (my expectations were low). It worked both times.

My wife has a red card in her name linked to our back account, am I able to apply for my own card with the same bank info?
No. I tried last time. You will be declined for that very reason.
Anyone else get two deposits but NO withdrawal for the debit card. I can't verify my account as it asks for a withdrawal amount and there wasn't one..
