No wifi 6, make sure you can update the wifi card before buying it.
It would only make sense for people with routers compatible a lot of people I know don't even have routers that are WiFi 6 so there won't be any gains to be had. That being said the WiFi module is replaceable item it sits in a mini pci a lot however I don't know if the antenna arrangement is the same so there's that.

Intel gen 8 through 10 are practically the same. So gen 9 is just fine.

Negative, save your $900 for the new RTX 30 series unless you're desperate and only have $1000 to spend at the moment otherwise you can wait this out given the fact you're not a manchild with very little patience and/or self control for all things cheap and on sale.
Ok then.

95% of us here are not competitive gamers, game reviewers or twitch streamers. So waiting for a reasonably priced rtx 30 is a big No. User Gerbintosh makes a lot of sense. It comes down to bang for your buck and NEED at this time.
A) If you only have 899 to spend and Need a computer today this is not a bad deal atm. Its meh it does need more memory and a HD and the upgraded wifi would be nice.

B) if you can spend another $150 or so do it. It will extend the usefulness of your new laptop for X amount of years.

Realistically true gamers aren't on laptops in the first place. Laptop RTX 2060/70/80 are not equal to there desktop counterparts. I'm not even going to get into the Max-Q, and all the different versions.

Personally I just ordered an Eluktronics to replace my Alienware. I spent $1300 for it but it has everything I want in it with no comprimises at least in specs. It will be here Friday but the reviews are good. My alienware is chugging along with an i7-6700 and a 970 and it's just now showing its age big time but it has 32gb of memory and 2 Tb of storage!

Saving $150 will probably cost you more in the long run, but if you NEED a laptop now and $150 is out of reach for financial reasons this deal is ok, but I wouldn't call it slick.

When that is said, I basically want to poop on Intel's lack of innovation. I do give some mild credit for rushing out the 10xxx vs 100xx series though but they still lack on significant multitasking benchmarks.

I understand what you are saying, but I think if you aren't trying to game then it's unclear why you are considering this laptop in the first place

Given how much better the new RTX cards are, a new RTX laptop will be relevant longer when a bunch of new games come out that expect their users to have better cards

I think holding off is the best move if at all possible. I also think we are going to see some stellar deals on RTX 2060 laptops on BF so that's another possibility

For another $117 plus tax one can remedy the shortfalls with more memory and a second SSD:

8GB of RAM
https://www.newegg.com/team-8gb-2...6820331500 [Monetized]

1TB SSD
https://www.newegg.com/mushkin-en...6820226908 [Monetized]

As for the 120 Hz panel it sure beats a 60 Hz panel! I wouldn't sweat it.

Just FYI, the 30xx Nvidia cards are going to be an insane jump in performance.
