Has anyone ever owned both wired and battery version? I have the battery version that connects to the hub, and although the performance is fine, I notice my hard-wired eufy cams show the feed almost instantly, whereas the battery outdoor cams take awhile. It's not signal strength, so I'm thinking it has to do with the battery cameras power-saving features.

Hard to say for sure because I'm comparing doorbells to other type of eufy cams, not doorbell to doorbell.

Of all the various cameras, doorbell is most important to me to get an instant feed.

1080p vs 2k? I'd rather wait for the 2k version to be $99 or less.

So for me as a non power user who will eventually use this doorbell (I need the battery powered option) + a couple cameras.. I want the hub right?
You should get something like a cam2 pro with a hub and buy the wireless door bell as an addon.

If you want to use the homebase, you have to get the wireless version. That version can be wired as well though, if you want. Really, it comes down to where you want the video stored.

Wireless = Home base
Wired = local
If I wire up the wireless version, does it still need the home base to record? Also does it pre-record and do instant feed access like the regular wired version?
Or is the only benefit that it then runs on wired power rather than batteries?

I noticed the same thing with my wireless 2K doorbell. I think because of the home base is in the middle between the doorbell and your phone. If the 2K wired goes on sale I'm thinking about buying one. My situation right now the doorbell doesn't like to play smoothly if i change the video quality to high. it freezes and takes at least 5 minutes to push notifications. I live in a safe neighborhood so I don't mind the storage being outside.

Whether or not you wire the wireless version, you would still need the homebase for it and you will not get pre-record.

The hub is fantastic I was able to buy the doorbell for 149 including the hub and I have to say it's probably one of the best doorbells I've ever had and I've had the ring and the nest hello this one does not give you any false alerts at all

In summary, it sounds like the wired 2k resolution version is the best one. Best quality video and fastest response. That version is $149 on Amazon but $110 with that promotional code.

I have the Eufy 2k and hands down the best video doorbell. It's faster and higher video quality than Ring doorbell. For $10 more, it's a no brainer to go with the 2k version. Eufy comes with a chime so you don't have to mess with your doorbell transformer.

I've tried 3 cameras and this is the only one that works against direct afternoon sunlight in HDR mode. This shows a clear image of the person's face while the rest just show an unintelligible dark shadow.

And the phone app notification alert is almost instantaneous even through cellular.
