I like to give the wire model a shot. I will wait for"Amazon prime day?" Or Black Friday.

I guess I found a new hobby. Collecting doorbells lool
you can use the battery one as a hidden security camera at some other location like backyard, so it's not all that bad.

Bought one 2 months ago. Its terrible! How do you miss the mailman when box is right next to it? It's very hit or miss.

I have some of their other cams and the 2k doorbell cam as well, the regular cams work great even outdoors or facing outdoors, the doorbell cam will either report everything that breathes on it or 3 out of 5 humans if you set it to human only. Pretty disappointed with the sensitivity settings to be honest, but only for the doorbell.

I have one Eufy cam that points in a similar direction as the doorbell and it picks up human movement every time, the doorbell missed people walking directly up to it in "human only" mode which is pretty bad considering that once you change it to monitor an area playing with different settings I still got false positives by random stuff moving in front of the house

Pretty disappointed with it since reviews said it's better than Ring Pro

In the case of Eufy, the doorbell can not be resold (without the QR code)
Isn't the QR code printed on the back of the doorbell and the documentation box?

Sure would be nice to have a security camera system not owned by the Chinese
don't be afraid of the Chinese spying on your front yard

Recently got the wired doorbell and the indoor 2k camera, they are both great.

ONE MAJOR FLAW OF THE DOORBELL - The wired and wireless doorbell does not record 24/7 and provide a playback option like the indoor cam. I contacted support and they very plainly said yes we are aware, and we don't plan to add support for that. This isn't a total deal breaker, but as others have said the doorbell person detection isn't as good as the indoor cam, so a few times I know it missed a person or movement but I have no way of going back and checking.

I think I know why they do this - they want to use the same app for both the wired and wireless doorbells, and if they both recorded 24/7 the battery life on the battery doorbells would be terrible.

I really wish they would add this for the wired camera.

Anyone else who wants this feature reach out to support and request it! If enough of us ask maybe they will add it.

TL;DR - The doorbells do not record 24/7 or provide a way to view anything other specifically recorded events. Support said this is normal. Just a heads up as other brands DO allow 24/7 recording.

Edit: Yes live view still works

Incorrect, you can view the live feed and manually record.

You cannot "view playback". You can only view what events it recorded automatically, or whatever you record manually while in the app.

You can view the live feed

the doorbell that i got did not have the rq code on the body of the camera. it was on a separate paper. if yours is on the body, you can take sand paper to it, just make sure you take a very good picture for backup.

also keep in mind, that all eufy cameras require you to initiate with gps when installing . . . so eufy in theory can always find your camera when someone else tries to stall.

this has to do with heat and weatherproofing.

the indoor camera is white and has a lot of room inside the body with thin body plastic and openings, it's designed to be indoors at room temperature. and because of it's design it can run 24/7 without overheating.

the doorbell on the other hand is compact, black and would be subjected to the sun. the plastic is thicker and weather-sealed. heat can only dissipate via the metal plate attached to the back. after 122F the camera performance will diminish due to the heat. running it 24/7 in theory is possible but not practical.
if eufy enables that feature in the app, all they will get back is ungrateful users complaining about performance, returning the item and giving bad reviews. unless they redesign the doorbell it's better to stick with it's designed parameters and users would have a uniformal positive experience.

What is the best deal for the battery powered model? It needs a hub right?
I have used battery powered from other brands and they perform poorly.

No prebuffering means than you loose initial video and if the motion detection triggers late then you will only have a video of the person's back as he is leaving.

For my camera sometimes motion detection does not trigger at all.

Might be different for this brand.
