This is a new model of miter saw stand by rigid and normally be priced at $130 or above. It is a new model with 30 reviews averaged at 4.5 stars so far. Given its well accepted big brother AC9946 ($199, was on sale last BF for $99), this one likely will stand up to its brand reputation.

It will be too tall for operating a table saw. In addition, the leg support of any miter saw stand ls designed to support vertical force - chop. They will be unstable against table saw's lateral cutting operation. In a word, not suggested for a table saw due to safety concerns.

This is absolutely correct. I've got two of the the larger ridgid stands and they work great for my miter saw and my planer (mounted sideways so the rollers act as infeed and outfeed support).

The stand would be horribly unstable with a table saw as it flexes when force is applied to the side.

I got the one you linked to like 17 years ago for 99 bucks on sale. It is an awesome stand. Try going through a worksite with most and at least once, you will be fighting it as it tries to twist away like going up a step and you haven't lined up the wheels exactly. With the one you linked, no problem, the wheels are wide apart and big, so easy to move. The extensions are simple and it is robust to say the least as 17 years attest to. A lot of crown molding has gone up with mine. I have an old non-sliding craftsman dual bevel saw that was one of the highest rated at that time. It is a fantastic tool...
I am about in the same boat. I bought the same one approximately 15 years ago and absolutely love it. It is so convenient to leave the saw attached and roll it into the corner of the garage.

I'd wait for the other rolling one to go on sale for $99, which it probably will be for BF or between then. It is more stable and heavy duty. Only downside is that it takes up a good amount of space.

No, being able to keep the saw on the stand when folded is a pretty significant benefit. I'm able to just fold mine up and roll it into the corner.
Would rather store it horizontally. Less chance of something being unaligned.

Having used this style of stand before and recently (but not this particular model yet). I'd just like to say that its not that difficult to use and move around from job to job. I truthfully think it would be easier to get this in and out of a truck or van etc. because you can remove your miter saw from top of the stand with the quick release miter saw brackets.. Yes, the gravity stands are nice but they aren't so sweet when you have to pick them up and pull them in and out of the back of a vehicle with a saw on top of them by ones self.

You can easily remove the saw from the nicer stand as well - it's just not as necessary to do so.

Why would you want to? Usually you just release and lift the saw off the stand. No reason to store the saw vertically on it. The miter saw is great too. Very accurate

Does anybody have any thoughts on the HF Hercules Miter Saw and Stand? They have 15 percent off right now with CC sign up.
The Hercules stand is awesome, usually can get it fit 150

I have this stand. I bought it when it was $129, and now HD price-matched to $99. Here's my brief summary:

Solid stand. Legs fold smoothly, seems sturdy. Wheels work well towing this across my yard. Since it's kind of narrow you have to be careful that it doesn't tip over when on uneven ground, but the wheels are big enough and roll well enough to get across unpaved surfaces.

The mounting brackets didn't fit my Metabo HPT saw perfectly. The bolts that came with it are too short, and there is a metal "square" on top of the mounting bracket that doesn't sit flush against the saw base. The other Rigid saw stands don't have this metal plate, it seems new. When the mounting bolts are tightened on the rear position it causes the mounting bracket to twist. My solution was to leave those bolts a little loose.

I also bought the spare mounting brackets thinking they would fit this stand -- they do not, too big. So as far as I can tell they don't sell extra mounting brackets separately.

Given the above, for $99 I think this is a solid buy.

Thinking about the stand and saw. Like $550 for both with 15 percent off of that if I sign up for their CC.

I am waiting for the standard Ridgid rolling miter saw stand to go on sale. It typically goes on sale a few times per year. Hopefully they continue that trend this year. Maybe Black Friday...

Picked it up from Direct tools outlet last month for 129$ factory blemished. Might be worth checking!
