I got a Chase Sapphire Reserve card back in 2016 and its active. Do I qualify ? 🧐
"This product is available to you if you do not have any Sapphire card and have not received a new cardmember bonus for any Sapphire card in the past 48 months."

I'm in your same exact boat and I think this means not eligible.

any chance they give more time for spending due to.. you know, this thing going on? $4k in 3mos is tough for me. And how is 80k pts = $800? you can redeem it as statement credit? whats up with no promo APR? i dont dine/travel. is this card even useful for anything else? Is this once-in-years kinda deal? i will really have to stretch to meet spending. need ideas on how to blow 4k on retail..

I got my Chase Reserve on Sept 2nd, 2016 and my account is still open. I'm going to call Chase to figure out if I'm eligible when i opened the account or when the 100k bonus posted in Nov 2016.

Obviously, I'll need to close my account and transfer my points to my husband too.

But if this person closes their card, and waits till the 4 year mark, they'd be eligible, right?

So basically if you opened the CSR in 2016 and still have it open, you are not eligible?

The application date or the card open date doesn't matter. What matters is the date that you received the sign-up bonus. That date is probably the closing date of the statement in which it was awarded to you.

For example, if you met the minimum spend for the sign up bonus in the first month the card was opened, the statement closing date was probably October or November 2016. If you met the minimum spend in the 3rd month that the card was opened, then the bonus may have been awarded in January or even February - again, depends on the statement closing date. You can check your first few statements in that account to know for sure.

Is the annual fee waived for the first year?

I don't travel much, especially with covid, so I'd like to get this for the $800 (or $700 if AF is charged) and then close or convert it to another no fee card

So just to be 100% clear:

My last Sapphire bonus (100k Sapphire Reserve) was received in a statement with a closing date of 11/21/2016. Does this mean I can apply for the card now, not meet the $4000 spend until after 11/21, and still get the 80k points? Can I still keep my Sapphire Reserve?
