Passing product key verification doesn't mean you have license to use it legally. You need license issued by Microsoft. eBay sellers can never give you genuine ones.
Sure they can bought a couple from eBay and they have worked for years

Lmao why would you buy this go get a valid key on eBay for 5 bucks
My guess is that very few people who are successful in life have this attitude. Could ethics and success be tied together?

How do you know it is "valid".
As was mentioned... "EBay and elsewhere, cheap keys are not legally distributed, so don't be surprised like other buyers such offices suddenly stop working."

I remember in the day... when I used one of those keys for the Windows OS (purchased through ebay)... one day I turn on my computer and I get a screen that stated invalid licence and I then had to buy a legit copy. What bothered me was I just missed a sale... and had to pay FULL RETAIL EEK!

That's not my problem. It's up to eBay and Micro$oft to monitor these auctions, not me. I buy them and they work flawlessly.

You might want to rethink the suggestion that rich, successful people are ethical. That's laughable. It's also ironic that you're using the word ethics in relation to a discussion about a Microsoft product.

Something similar happened to me. I had used a Windows XP Professional disc/license shared between myself and friends for years before someone told me I could buy a Windows 7 license on iOffer. Everything was fine until the KB971033 "update" said it wasn't genuine. The desktop just goes black, but everything else worked. I bought genuine OE licenses on eBay after that, and everything worked for years and I eventually upgraded to Windows 10 without a hitch.

Whatever gets you through the night, eh? There are still people—most people—who believe stealing is wrong.

Interested in seeing where this is documented and what alternative AV products you recommend. I've been using Norton for years, no issues with system performance. Also use paid version of Malwarebytes.
Don't use antivirus software if you're worried about the government agencies. Lol!

Thanks, dad. That's strange, because if most people think stealing is wrong, nothing is being done about all the burning, looting and destruction going on across the country for the past few months. The media encourages it. Besides, no one is stealing. It's a discount, similar to buying knockoff Chinese goods. You've never downloaded an .mp3 file, burned a CD for a friend, or streamed a sporting event online? We're talking about a grey area, not stealing.

"But dad, one of the other kids did it, too!" Your parents plainly failed you. What a childish mentality you have.

You didn't answer my questions and instead chose to be overly dramatic and resort to personal attacks. I wonder why? People who shout the loudest about taking the moral high ground usually have more skeletons in their closet than everyone else. You are the Jerry Falwell of Slickdeals.
