Oil production is through the roof. Demand is slacking

I think the local costco had the same price

I'm sure this isn't a "bad" oil, but neither is it a high performance oil. If you don't care, buy this. If you demand more for your engine, buy Mobil 1 or other name brand equivalent.
Thorough research and data do not support this claim. The KS oil has gone through TONS of analysis' and is uniformly lauded for its quality.

High performance oil? Mobil 1 performs terribly out of the bunch. Kirkland and supertech and amazon oil outperforms Mobil 1.

I understand if someone has always used mobil 1 and feels more comfortable continuing to use what has always worked for them. What I'd like to know is what specifically makes mobil 1 better than this kirkland oil. I see the Kirkland is API SN plus and Dexos Gen 2 certified so it certainly seems perfectly capable.

As I said, not a bad oil. But meeting a standard doesn't mean top of the line. Like the whole "top tier gas" BS we often see, claiming something like ARCO is "the same" as, for example, Chevron.

Manufacturers and most professional mechanics aren't going to use relabeled oil. They use a legacy brand proven over generations.

$21.99 in-store for me for a box of 10 qts.

Though my local Costco stores carries only 0W-20 and 5W-30.

Perfectly fine oil for 99.5% of the use cases. Save your money unless you take your Ferrari to the track.

Spend some time at bobistheboilguy.org and learn about oil instead of spewing out random shit that you understand
