Just some friendly guidance on selecting KN95 masks to use:

1. Per the FDA instructions for using respirators from China, you're supposed to check if it is an authorized import using Appendix A and then review CDC filtration tests on those authorized products.:
https://www.fda.gov/medical-devic...e-facility

Appendix A: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devic...#appendixa

CDC filtration tests: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/r...sults.html

2. Also be aware that some companies may list an FDA registration certificate pretending that the product has been approved.
FDA Registration and listing does NOT denote FDA approval, clearance, or authorization of a device or endorsement of a firm; rather, it simply provides the FDA with the location of a medical device establishment and devices manufactured at that location.

How much money has everyone spent on masks this year? I bought a re-usable mask for $5 many months ago. Really the only mask I've used (I got a free cloth mask before too). I want to know who the biggest sucker has been. Make me feel good. Let me hear it.
You don't need a mask if you stay in your parent's basement all year 😂

HOnestly, for planes and other crouded places I would use KN95.
When you are hiking - i really don't understand why people use masks - trying to look compliant???
n95/kn95 can block smoke particulates too

The problem with these masks which results in them being nowhere near as effective as actual approved N95s is that they use ear loops which do not provide enough compression against the face. CDC approval requires straps that go behind the head for effective fit.
This is incorrect. My hospital used KN95's with Ear loops and they've been using them even before the pandemic.

These are not on the FDA approved list.

You can find the list here: https://www.fda.gov/medical-devic...#appendixA

These are probably better than a surgical mask so they're more than enough for general public use. Medical professionals working in COVID units wouldn't be using these masks unless they were out of options. As a previous user said, the ear loops don't create a tight enough seal.

I hear Wyze will be introducing the "Wyze Door Mat" and "Wyze Smart Garden Hose" before they fix their current products.
Whats wrong with their current products? I have multiple cameras and sensors. I've never had one issue with any of them.

The KN95 masks usually feature 4-layer or 5-layer protection. These are 3-layer knock-offs.

They're sold out now, but as a point of reference meh.com (deal-a-day site) had them on sale today @ $19 for a 20 KN95s (five 4-packs).

Generally speaking, if meh.com is selling it, it means you're not going to find it much cheaper anywhere else for the period of time it's on sale.

I have actually spent a lot. I use about 4 surgical mask and about 3 either Kn95's a day when I work. I was a sucker and bought a bunch of filters for my respirator and I've only used 1. I haven't been using it since Covid has died down in the area I work, plus I'm trying to keep my antibodies in check, lol. I think $1 per mask is a good deal but yea, Kn95's don't form a good face seal. We do wear a surgical over them which on top of making it harder to breathe, makes it a tad bit tighter around your face.
