Most of those use fake AX200 cards.

The one at Newegg is the genuine Intel item in the retail box.
Is there a way to tell if the chip is fake?

If you have a desktop that takes this, shouldn't you be trying to get wired??

No easy way that I know. It's rare that the genuine Intel boxed version goes on sale, so I'd just go with that if you want peace of mind.

I am using this and quite happy. Nice to have it if you don't have an empty M.2 slot.

Are there any where you can plug into the M.2 port, and the Antennae headers can be replaced with the ones mounted on the Mobo?

I already have an intel ax200 m.2 card, but I am struggling to find a Pci-e adapter for my desktop to make it work with my msi b550-a pro. Last year I tried this [amazon.com] and it didn't work because the antenna coupling wasn't the right size.

You don't need to use the antenna that comes with it. Just pull off the connectors from the card and use your own antenna connection.

Hard to tell when they flood the market. I mean the fake ones work up to a point where you can't tell until you start getting issues. And it is not just the fake but substandard parts that don't pass QC still get put on production boards.

Seriously? I already addressed this in the first few replies.

If you can't be bothered to read the thread, don't ask questions.

I'd prefer the PCIe slot version over m.2
Why? M.2 slots typically have more channels so faster throughput which is what AX is based on.
If you plug this into a PCIExpress slot that is x3 or less, you will create a bottleneck with the pcie.

I ordered two fenvi models. One came in a branded box and the other came in a brown box. Both looked legit but one definitely has some issues connecting to the network quickly. Not sure if it's the card itself or the system it's installed in.

Most can get by with ac right now and wait until prices for routers and mobile devices arrive and get cheaper. Wish there was cheap 10GBE routers & equip but there just isn't. Until that's part of cheaper ax routers, it's still a niche.
I ordered the Honor 3 WiFi-6 router from Aliexpress fro $35 bucks. I can't believe how fast this thing is with my Samsung Galaxy flex Alpha
