One time where buy now ask later backfired, I got this for a laptop thinking how could it be cheaper only to find out bare cards are. On the plus side retail box means I don't have to research to ensure I get a legit card I guess. I love how Newegg sends a stock boy to slam dunk your product in a box 2 minutes after you press order so you can't cancel.

Correct, Newegg ships the same day. What a crappy way to do businesslaugh out loudlaugh out loudlaugh out loud

So if I don't have AX router , it wont work?
It will work. Benefits will really only happen for a wifi 6 router BUT it will also help if you have AC wave 2, which is wifi 5.

I have an Asrock AB350 ITX with a wifi card, are these stock wifi usually cards pci e or m.2? Im thinking the current wifi card is pci e...
Your board has an m2 wifi slot. I recommend upgrading. I had your board and the wifi card that came with it isn't the greatest.

Most can get by with ac right now and wait until prices for routers and mobile devices arrive and get cheaper. Wish there was cheap 10GBE routers & equip but there just isn't. Until that's part of cheaper ax routers, it's still a niche.
No point in upgrading to WiFi 6 unless you need it. Might as well wait for 6E which will add the 6GHz spectrum

They've always been this way but they make it almost impossible to cancel any order though. I was being literal, though in review it was 4 minutes from order to cancel, 2 minutes from card verification. Something tells me they aren't so efficient that it would have been a big inconvenience to cancel my order.

Man that is a really good price for a Wifi 6 router. Have not looked into it much yet, but it will get very little love though since its a Huawei clone by the looks of it at least in the USA.
Be sure to get "Global" version. Some of those Huawei & Honor AX routers sport the Chinese language interface... unless you shwa Jungwo hwa...

…to use it with Linux, you need to be running kernel 5.1 or later.

Does anyone remember NDISWrapper? [sourceforge.net] It allowed you to use Windows device drivers on Linux for networking hardware.

does this fit in the cmnv or whatever that wierd bluetooth/wifi slot intel was pushing on 9 series (z390) motherboards? cause that's what i have.
Lol, I ordered this exact card on Amazon 3 weeks ago for my gigabyte z390 computer I built, and for the life of me could not get this to work in the CNVi slot on the motherboard. I was stumped for weeks. Finally, I noticed that in the description on Amazon it had this

Compatibility: Only for use on Intel Windows 10 64-bit machines, that are not currently on a BiOS lock, and do not contain an Intel 9560 CNVI part.

So I just ended up ordering the Gigabyte CNVi wifi upgrade card that comes with a 9560 in it just to drop in my system, since I don't even have an AX router anyways.

Can anyone comment on whether a wireless adapter is better than using a router in media bridge mode, all nameplate speeds being equal?

Does it make sense for people without WiFi 6 router to buy this?
