Yeah this is a good deal, I got one. Even better if you actually will be using these tools! 😆

Does this hammer drill have the side handle? I don't see it in pic. I thought all hammer drills have that

No this is a "compact" hammer drill. Doesn't have the same power as a 996 so no handle

Which package is better?

Package 1:
575 saw
996 3 speed hammer drill
(2) 60v/2ah batteries
DCB118 fast charger
$400

Package 2:
578 saw
796 2 speed hammer drill
(1) 60v/3ah battery
(1) 20v/2ah battery
6A charger
$300

I already have a flex volt reciprocating saw that came with (2) 60v/2ah batteries and a fast charger.
Package two. sell the compact drill and buy a 996 from offerup

Compact hammer drill seems like an oxymoron. Isn't the whole point of a hammer drill about the power?

In for one. Flip the items for cheap locally for at least $100 profit.

Use that to buy some other tool 👍🏻

Don't forget to buy a Home Depot coupon off of FleaBay. Around $4.50 for 3. $20 off $200 takes care of most taxes.

And also your Discover 5% @ PayPal for an extra $15.

How much will I get for each item if I sell each item individually local. I don't really need the saw but if I can make some money to buy a cordless blower, will take my chances.

#6542 worked for me shipped to home. Buy now, think later purchase for me at this point. Got some projects lined up and starting to stock up on the Dewalt 20v tools. Probably won't get to my projects until the end of the year, so I'll return if a better deal comes along. Pretty sure they have a 180 day return period now due to COVID.
Thanks for that! I was searching like mad and then saw your comment and ordered from there too

Looks like moderators reformatted the post and the instructions to change store got lost.

Not the best deal. 3.0 60v battery isn't that great. Deals w/ 6.0 batteries have been had recently (in the past 6 months w/ drill/impact combo, bare tools 60v cost less in perspective of 20v.)
I agree. A 3ah 60 volt will last maybe an hour on most 60v tools.

Before I bought this for 299. I would go with the 60v Worm Drive for 249. (Pretty sure it comes with a battery at that price) ive used the dcs578 and the DCS577B and the Worm Drive DCS577B blows the Dcs578 away. And dewalt put this hammer drive on sale all the time for $99. So if you think about it you can get the Worm Drive DCS557B for $40 dollars more. And in my opinion the Worm Drive version is worth paying a $100 extra dollars for, only issue with this way is you have to wait for the hammerdrill to go on sale, but in my opinion that would definitely be worth the wait.

How often are you really drilling into concrete though? This hammer drill will be fine for 99% of applications. Plus much lighter and safer to maneuver up high on a ladder if you were installing a security light for example.
