This stand is just ok. With how heavy the saw is you have to slide it forward a lot to balance it when moving it around. That means that the roller and end stop supports aren't fully usable. They only hold 2" or so instead of the full 6" width. If you were in the market for the saw it's a nice stand to have. I suspect a lot of people will mount this on a nice bench but this stand comes with quick release mounts so you can swap it easily.

Miter Saws are supposed to be heavy.

The weight of the saw isn't the issue. I think the saw is great. The problem is the stand functionality is diminished because it was not design to accommodate the weight of the saw.

You gotta assemble it right. If you're uncertain, you can ask the pro desk at Home Depot. They should be able to show you how to place your miter.

I really like this saw with the innovative slide and motor placement. The dust collection is pretty sweet too. Reviews are good except the indent plate wears which will throw the cuts off. Some people are already making steel replacements.

That stand isn't any better than the craftsman I already have. I'm looking for one I can wheel around and store with the saw attached.

I thought about replacing my 3-month-old Dewalt 716XPS 12" with this. Do I gain anything besides the sliding cut?

Well if you want to be condescending about it. Do you own this saw and stand yourself? Because I do. If you place the saw where you can fully use the roller and end stop arms, it is unwieldy to roll around with the stand folded up. It's simple physics. The wheels on the stand are spaced too narrow for the center of gravity of the saw. I actually worked as a carpenter for a while before I became a mechanical engineer so I'm quite familiar with saws and physics. I'd be happy to draw you a free body diagram if that would make it more clear for you.

Just take a picture of the saw on standf so someone can help you fix it.
