The special edition bonuses are worth it if you are considering playing online. The stock horse they give you when you start is garbage, and it will take some time to level up and save up in game money to buy it once it becomes available. If you are even remotely considering playing online, imo, it's totally worth it. I bought the Ultimate edition when the game first came out, and that horse saved me hours of frustration and grinding. Now, only if Rockstar can fix their servers then I'll be happy.
See? I'm not the only one.

Unlike what someone else said, the online version is horrible. Read all the user reviews and see who is telling the truth.

Correct on the single player, but don't listen to this dude regarding online. "Bugs"..."most are worked through." That's the lie of the decade right there. It's literally impossible to go one day (sometimes as soon as 5 minutes, rarely as long as two hours) without the server crashing. It will specifically state: "You have been disconnected from Red Dead Online due to a fault on Rockstar game services [Error: 0x20010006]"

Tell me more about how a game that's been out almost two years backed by a company with literally infinite shark card money is "worked through" when most games have better stability in Alpha. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Edit: This is the same company whose most recent update to the game was completely reverting to the previous one because it literally shut the game down COMPLETELY for 4 days. Not only did the garbage update somehow pass QC, but the idiots said 'uh, crap guys, what do we do? the game is unplayable. uhhhhhhhhhhh. idk.' IT TOOK 4 WHOLE DAYS for them to decide 'ooh I know, maybe we should revert to the previous update that half-ass worked!' Complete f***ing idiots.
On the Xbox One that hasn't been the case for me and my friends since they rolled back that broken update. It appears to "fix" that issue they've greatly reduced the number of players in a free roam session. Rarely I'll run into random players, but all the roles and content works fine. Legendary animals spawn easily, everything works for the most part just not a lot of players around which some might find preferable. I've been disconnected once in the last couple weeks. I've had sessions for 3+ hours without any interruptions.

Consider yourself lucky. I have over 300 hours logged online. It's straight up hot garbage. And don't say 'it must be good if you have that many hours.' I'm a completionist to a fault.

I don't think I've seen a good deal on it for PC yet. Hoping to try it soon, for not too much.
It's honestly worth full price. So good.

I've seen some beautiful clips. Will get it eventually. Haven't even touched my gaming notebook for a month or so.

I remember purchasing the disk for xbox one back in december 2018. It was sold out everywhere. Luckily got stock at walmart. Including tax it cost me $62 something. Worth every penny. One of the best games ever made. I purchased RDR1 in Feb 2019 from amazon after finishing RDR2, so the story was pretty straight for me. If you are a gamer you should never miss playing this game.

I love how I'm downvoted for speaking the truth backed by other fellow SDers. Obviously there are Rockstar employees among us. Downvote me all you want, my opinion and the truth will not change. Shall I bring up more facts that I encountered just 1 hour ago? I think I will.

Why is it that I have to switch servers in order to view my new daily challenges once the clock rolls to the new day? Why doesn't my map show the path to a distant marker I place (aka my horse won't know which way to travel when I want it to auto-pilot so that I can spare my controller about 342 presses of the X button)? Why, when I have a legendary animal and I just traveled a loooong distance to donate it, does the server conveniently crash 2 seconds before I arrive at my destination and causes me to lose $50+? Why do I drink a very specific antique alcohol bottle that I have disproportionately more of than the rest only to have it deduct a completely different type/bottle that I only have 1 of instead?

These are all things that I encountered in the mere 40 minutes I played tonight. Shall I continue with more facts? I certainly can...

This is the only game I've seen so far has been holding it's price firm for so long. Other's price go to half after a month or two of it's release. Must be a wonderful game.

Yes you caught me. I'm a Rockstar employee sent here to undermine you truth speakers. Now that my cover is blown I'll be more honest with the community about this awful game.

Regarding the daily challenges, it only impacts the general challenges. All the role challenges reset right on time. Is it a little annoying, yes, will it get fixed probably. Is it that big of a deal, no. I played yesterday for 3+ hours, no disconnects, got 2 random legendary animals samples for Harriet, no problem. Did a large delivery wagon rotation with a posse of 4, we all sold and made $1500 in about an hour. Delivered my moonshine no problem at all, a friend did get stuck on the black screen attempting his sell mission. That is a very annoying bug still happening, maybe I get it 1 out of 10 delivery attempts though. As far as the alcohol bottle, is that really that big of a deal? Every day you can get exactly the bottle you need easily using the online collector map. It's another minor annoyance that's all. For those who aren't aware of it: https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/ this online map is incredibly useful.

There are definitely bugs, they aren't game breaking for the most part. Perhaps you're on a different console as on the Xbox it's been largely stable for everyone I know since they rolled back the broken patch. I am almost rank 150 with 200+ gold and $20,000, have all the roles maxed out and play several hours a day. I don't disagree there are still issues, and the content is still fairly limited, but I'm not going to say it's trash. I enjoy the mostly chill online play and limited griefing. It's not toxic like GTA where everyone has a flying rocket bike blowing up everything. GTA has some bugs too, for example it sometimes won't register you've delivered something to the yellow circle, that's game breaking just as much as the moonshine glitch.

The single player campaign is the best I've ever played. I have every achievement unlocked. The world Rockstar created is nothing short of amazing. I can't imagine what they'll come out with on the next generation consoles. It's hard to imagine something better than this, especially graphically.

Every gamer owes it to themselves to beat this campaign and come up with their own opinion.

Confirmed all the bugs I stated. Check.

Acknowledged further bugs ("friend did get stuck on the black screen"). Check.

"There are definitely bugs, they aren't game breaking for the most part." This confirms that there ARE still game-breaking bugs two years after release. Check.

"I don't disagree there are still issues, and the content is still fairly limited..."

Terrible defense.

Any other questions, or did everyone get what they needed here?
