If this site was just for pricing mistakes and limited quantity items there'd be almost nothing ever posted here. Getting 20% off a game on day 1 is a slick deal because you're gonna have to wait a while for it to go any lower. It's not up to you to decide how low of a price people should wait before they finally purchase.
How did you come to a general consensus on this deal? I appreciate that someone went out of there way to alert us of a difference in price. If you need to fine tune your alerts to weed out on deals at a certain threshold then that's what the tools are there for, but I don't think discouraging people from posting deals is in the interest of this site or part of the general consensus.
How is it not a deal? The sale isn't permanent.

20% off a first-day digital game is not a slick deal. (Normal price $24.99)

I haven't played it on Switch (yet) but on PC it's fantastic. Probably worth double-dipping on Switch just for portability for this one.

It's not slick, just okay. Some curation and discretion should be exercised. A lot of people set low thresholds on their alerts so they can be notified of price mistakes and limited quantity offers. This regular sale stuff bloats notifications. If the OP had said 20% off in the title, I would've ignored the alert. People who are interested in a modest sale on this game would either already know or could check the eshop once a week to find out.

I didn't say it was just for that. But anyway, it's partly up to the voting system to vindicate what's a good deal. But we shouldn't put up every single sale; the site is meant for the discerning deal hunter. I'm saying in my assessment, and what I believe to be the general consensus, that this post is clutter that does not meet the Slickdeals standards. Obviously there's going to be a range in which people disagree. But this is definitely in the more expensive end of that range.

This is a good deal! $5 off the price it will be after the launch window and unlikely to go on sale again in the next several months because of the launch discount.

If you want to play it on Switch soon, this is a great price.

If you don't mind waiting for an indeterminate period of time it will probably be cheaper, but time is money and waiting around isn't very Slick.

Do you think the controls transfer well from mouse/keyboard to console controller?

Supergiant is a great company. They deserve the patronage. Bastion. Transistor. Pyre. 😊

It's one extra click to decide it isn't useful for you then you move on. Other people appreciate the notification. Send petty to whine this doesn't for your definition of a deal or worthy of an alert.

If you prefer personal customized game deal alerts then set it up on something like dekudeaks 😉

I'll just have to disagree with you. Small sale on a single game isn't worth it. I do think these small deals have gotten more popular on the site than they used to. Maybe that's a trend of where the community is going and maybe not. If it is where the community is going, I'd like to reverse the tide. Norms are squishy and aren't on paper; we obviously have a disagreement about what those norms are. I'm not going to clog inboxes unless I see a steep deal or urgent news or unless I put enough information in the title to help people filter. I hope others do the same. I can't click on every single time someone goes, ooh Nintendo sale.
i would argue that the discerning deal hunter needs the most information to make a good decision. I would rather err on the side of too much information than to censor or create artificial limits that could potentially create a situation where I dont have all the data. That being said I am against the spamming and bots so I am not totally against having sane guidelines.
