Reolink 5MP PoE IP Camera - RLC-410

YMMV - Current price is $49.99, 5% off valid until 9/18, EXTRA 25% with code affsus4105mp25offw38 (not sure when it is valid until, worked on 9/17). 5% + 25% price down to ~$37 - Now $44.99 before 25% coupon 9/28

From my understanding, this product works with Blue Iris and other NVR software. It also has Reolink cloud and NAS support.

I have UBNT POE switch. Can I use this camera to replace my UBNT camera and use a generic NVR? UBNT NVR sucks. Thanks

Can anyone recommend a "affordable" DVR for these cameras? Or can we use them with a Synology NAS? say a DS220+?

Thanks!!

I'm not an expert by any means, but the guys at ipcamtalk don't like Reolink cameras.

Keep in mind, these guys look for things most average users who are happy with Ring doorbells probably don't care too much about.

Yes it needs a central recording device (NVR)
You can use it without an NVR, it also connects to their cloud and can be viewed via Reolink apps on your phone or computer.

Thanks, in for one to test out. Would like to get away from Arlo & Wyze eventually but haven't pulled cable yet. I bought a similar Amcrest but not real impressed with video quality.

I found BlueIris deal while back so I have tried that out but it doesn't support Arlo & Wyze. BI has tons of configuration options to keep you tweaking settings for days and days. 5MP cameras increase CPU usage noticeably.

Currently running TinyCamPro app in AndroidX86 VM on my main PC for monitoring video.

A lot of systems will not accept a PoE camera for a plug and play must check your system comparability or call manufacturer or you will have a expensive dummy camera like I have don't take it for granite it will work
this one works as a standalone too.

I purchased this camera just a little over a month ago from Amazon, and I am currently using it with the Blue Iris Demo. Easy to setup and install, supports POE and ONVIF, great picture quality and nightvision, app is also easy to use as well. The two downfalls is it does not support h265 and the only location I can mount my camera for my front porch is on metal. When activating sound is has a loud hum, possibly from the metal vibrations or interference. Once removed from the metal the hum goes away. I will be purchasing another one if I can get it for this price. Thank you

Better than relying on WiFi and internal batteries

I used a lot of information from ipcamtalk to setup my own IP camera system. It went reasonably well. But lately I went back, and there have been a lot of problems with the Fenderman mod who is shitting on Reolink in that thread.

I won't go into all of it here, but I strongly suggest you google "ipcamtalk fenderman reddit" if you want to read some really interesting stories.

No, you don't have to. It runs independently from anything. All you need is a POE connection to the camera from your local network. After that you can view what's on the camera from a reolink app and also apps like tiny cam pro (I think).

no it doesn't. Will run just fine without. Just won't have any recordings.
