It depends on your use case. If you're looking to decorate your car, then these will work much better than any dishwashing pods. If you're washing dishes, then the Cascade Pods are probably the way to go.
Trunk or Treat is a very popular thing for schools (young children) and churches etc. You're only there a couple of hours. While I don't disagree with you about being prepared and knowledgeable about cars, they're not exactly long events.
You should probably check out either Michael's this weekend because they're 50% off all Halloween decor, or check out Menards because they had some.

Cute, can't say I've ever decorated my car before but I might as well start this year.

These are pretty much for the trunk or treats but since most likely all that is cancelled due to covid they're on sale.

I never heard of this before, but looked it up now. I would personally not want to do this for more then a few hours in normal conditions unless the trunk was closed most of the time. Since it appears the trunk should be open all the time I would suggest removing any bulbs in the trunk and using a alternate non-car source for light (rechargable led light etc.). If you have all led lights I would still be hesitant.

I know people are going to say my suggestion is BS and they never had a problem etc, but things are definitely different now. #1 you are not supposed to rely on your alternator to charge your battery. #2 Modern alternators seem to be specced to just provide the bare minimum to keep everything running with a small charge to the battery. So to recharge it will take a long time. Even if you have led everything the battery and alternator will be re-engineered with that in mind (less capacity since it's not 'needed'). #3 for the most part people are driving less, so your battery is already under stress from losing more charge then normal between driving cycles. You also probably are taking shorter trips when you go out. All this is not good for the battery.

It would be a good idea to bring a jump starter regardless, but moreso in this case. I doubt the people who thought up trunk or treating ever checked their cars fluids let alone understood anything about a cars electrical system. Actually I would not be surprised to find out auto parts stores are encouraging this. Your average person would think it's neat and do it, then go buy a jump starter if their battery died while purchasing a new battery for install at their local auto parts store. The extra stress will cause the battery to fail prematurely so a small increase in sales over years is still an increase in sales.

The ones I've been to have a lot of people who set up a folding table by thier car rather than leave the trunk open. They still decorate but it seems more convenient that way.
