I do NOT like the lifetime warranty of Husky. Yes, I can bring it back for exchange without receipt BUT they ask me for my driver license.

Someone told me that if you do this so many time, they will ban you from "return without receipt". Basically you will be denied to return or exchange stuffs without receipt.
Can anyone confirm if this is true or someone just tried to pull my leg?
I've heard to too. I think it is fair

As long as you aren't being fraudulent you should be fine.

Depends on your car but 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm I'd say are usually most common
13mm & 10 mm

No 3/8 drive deep sockets. 1/4 drive sockets only go up to 3/8". I was looking at this to keep under the seat in my truck, but the limited socket sizes aren't suitable for even a roadside alternator repair or parking lot battery replacement.
Agreed, lame set. 6 and 12 point of the same thing, as if that's what anyone wants in a go kit.

True, data base, transferable. You might be at Target and same BS. Always use a CC that you will remember. All they refund you at a lower rate.

I am looking for a socket set with just metric shallow and deep sockets. Why nobody makes them? I intend to keep it in the car. All those SAE sizes are simply useless. If HD comes up with such a set, it will be a hit.

I purchased this set back in Feb, when it was $29.00 on "Clearance". Posted then, that 623-923 comes in two varieties. One made in Taiwan, and one made in China. I purchased the Taiwan set.
It seems Taiwan has the better tools when in direct comparison. Harbor Freight's better line of tools are made in Taiwan. Only made in USA tools left are my dad's older sets he bought years ago while he was still working. I don't hate on made in china, but I do think made in Taiwan is better. I think for craftsman line at lowe's now, they have made in china sets vs made in taiwan sets too.

That said, I haven't used the 12pts, and have use the socket and bits for various work on my 2016 car. I have more extensive tools at home, but I had originally purchase this as an 'in-trunk' kit, and maybe cut around the mold case to add pockets or holders to build up the kit. I just haven't got around to it and the my in trunk kit is still an .30 cal ammo can with tools in it.

I'm just getting into tools. Is this good enough for an oil change, maybe basic maintenance on my car? Does this come with common sizes. Thank you
Get a cordless ratchet wrench and a cordless 1/2 inch impact wrench and some impact sockets, usually they are black. Determine whether you need SAE or Metric and get 6 point sockets. You'll need some latex gloves made for auto work. I get the 9mm gloves from Harbor Freight.

I'm with mummy2, except IMO, you only need an impact driver (this is the one I've got, it does great - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LBT3...zFbXDDC9BE ) and then a set of hex adapters (such as these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7PN...zFbW3T3386 - although I got mine in an actual single package with all three for like $7 at Ace a while back, don't think they were even on sale), especially just for standard auto repairs, and nothing too deep in the engine haha.

Someone else mentioned a good little starter set for a car too, I think it was 8, 10, 12, and 14 are usually the ones you'll need, and they're definitely right, IME, for most cars, however: 13mm & 15mm's are both going to be needed at some point, even for your basic stuff, and it REALLY sucks when you're halfway thru a job and need to take a little "break" because you don't have a certain socket -_- for this reason, I would also suggest buying three (or even four or five, tbh) 10mm sockets. You'll need them 🥴

I bought a $400 item with a gift card and I needed to show my driver license to return the item even with a receipt. After that I was ban from returning anything purchased with a gift card even if you paid $99 from a credit card and $1 with a gift card and you are just trying to return something $2 from the receipt, you will still need to show your driver license and you won't be able to return anything from that receipt.

I will not buy and HD gift card ever again and I am buying from lowes from now on.

Stuff that says made in Taiwan (Tektron) . or the US. (Snapon, SK, Channellock)
Personally I have found the HF ikon tools are very good... perhaps a copy of snapon. at 1/3 price.
