And.....? So what
The phone you're using to complain it's also made in China
I'm simply providing information, not complaining (and not using my phone).

Very nice basic set - have used it in my field service vehicle several times after owning it for one year. I like how everyone thinks that SAE fasteners no longer exist in the world - except the world is actually kind of old and there are several still in use out there (old cars, devices, houses etc). One reason I like this set is that it includes BOTH so I don't have to fumble around with transporting two tool sets. I like that it included allen wrenches and nut driver bits - both of which I have used for adjusting monitor mounting brackets and removing TV wall mounts.

**Edit** Of course it's made in China - you think you'd get an American made set for 30 bucks? Good luck getting a single wrench for that price point.

Imo, a nice starter set either for personal use including having in a vehicle or as a gift. 72 tooth ratchets with quick release.

With free shipping to home, the price is right. I wouldn't be concerned about COO. LT warranty and ~$28, as noted won't find US made for that.

Don't need this but sure is tempting. Dang you slickdeals.

This is true if you show your license. Why would you show your license. That would violate privacy law.
Please provide a link to the law to which you are referring...pretty sure you're wrong on this, but I'm willing to consider your position.

You do realize Home Depot isn't forcing you to do the exchange, so showing your ID is entirely voluntary.

I am looking for a socket set with just metric shallow and deep sockets. Why nobody makes them? I intend to keep it in the car. All those SAE sizes are simply useless. If HD comes up with such a set, it will be a hit.

Check out Tekton, here's a good metric set with shallow and deep 6 point sockets: https://www.tekton.com/3-8-in-dr-...ge=6-24-mm

I do NOT like the lifetime warranty of Husky. Yes, I can bring it back for exchange without receipt BUT they ask me for my driver license.

Someone told me that if you do this so many time, they will ban you from "return without receipt". Basically you will be denied to return or exchange stuffs without receipt.
Can anyone confirm if this is true or someone just tried to pull my leg?
You gotta return thousands of dollars worth before the ban. It's to prevent stolen items being returned.

If you want to return lifetime warranty stuff like Husky hand tools. Go get the new item before you get in the return line. Then tell the person there you're doing an even exchange. They will just scan the new barcode and swap your items. No ID or reciept required.

This is very true, over the years I have heard contractors complain about this all the time, many now prefer Lowes. In many cases, even with a receipt they are not forcing you scan your drivers license. Returns, Price Matches, Warranties at Home Depot are a YMMV, depend on the store or the person behind the counter.

They also sell/share your shopping and returns information, I think the cashier mentioned this a shared database, but it was hacked and sold in the recent Home Depot hacked news.

However, as awareness grows, fewer people are opting to shop with stores that use Retail Equation database company!

This Crescent metric set comes with a nice case and compact enough to put under the seat in the car. Sizing is the same for both regular and deep sockets, from 8mm to 19mm with no skipping in size (my big reason for the purchase). Crescent is from Apex group, which also makes Gearwrench. The quality seems quite high and similar to my Gearwrench tools/sockets set. This set was made in Taiwan when I bought it a couple years ago. The only potential downside for some people is the reg sockets are 12 pts, only the deep sockets are 6 pts.

NOT TRUE. I did that when I tried to exchange my broken Husky tool that I received as a gift. The cashier told me that she needed my DL in order for her to do the exchange.
Either I had to give up my DL number for the transaction to happen OR brought back the broken tool and threw it to the trash can. This is why I stated "I do NOT like their lifetime warranty".
You might get the lifetime warranty mixed up between Husky and Craftsman. I used to walk in Sears with a brokend Craftsman tool and walked out with a new one without providing my DL.

I'm with mummy2, except IMO, you only need an impact driver (this is the one I've got, it does great - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LBT3...zFbXDDC9BE ) and then a set of hex adapters (such as these - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M7PN...zFbW3T3386 - although I got mine in an actual single package with all three for like $7 at Ace a while back, don't think they were even on sale), especially just for standard auto repairs, and nothing too deep in the engine haha.

Someone else mentioned a good little starter set for a car too, I think it was 8, 10, 12, and 14 are usually the ones you'll need, and they're definitely right, IME, for most cars, however: 13mm & 15mm's are both going to be needed at some point, even for your basic stuff, and it REALLY sucks when you're halfway thru a job and need to take a little "break" because you don't have a certain socket -_- for this reason, I would also suggest buying three (or even four or five, tbh) 10mm sockets. You'll need them
I said to get the impact wrench because you can do lug nuts and bolts with it too. Not to mention other tough bolts and nuts on the car. Better to have too much than not enough. Just ask any man.

Just how often are you returning stuff anyway?

It's because of the junkies who abuse the return system and will pull something off the shelf and try to return it for cash.
