Two of my google home minis were bricked by an automatic update. Google did some troubleshooting with me but refuses to go any further since they're a year out of warranty.
Google's consumer devices tend to be well made but the continued support for them has always been atrocious.
Bought these last month and had to return it. While the mesh seemed to work as intended, the router somehow throttled my speed from 300 mbps to 100 mbps. There is a whole community of people reporting this exact problem at this forum:

It may have to do with Spectrum internet ultra, since a few of the people including myself in that forum use that service. Google doesn't seem to care, and it doesn't seem to affect everyone. Just sharing my experience.

Not real thrilled with googles speakers. When I 1st got mine I had to jump thru hoops to get it to let me play music I had bought from google play on my speaker without having their paid music subscription. They finally fixed that and it worked fine. Now that Google music is dead and they are pushing people over to YouTube music, it's more problems again. Did their account transfer, and now the music that I purchased on Google Play doesn't show as "purchased" on YouTube Music. It just shows as "uploaded" and I'm once again not able to tell my mini to play my music. It just crabs at you to buy a subscription to YouTube Music. And from what I've read from others it doesn't sound like that would fix it either. Done buying content from Google. Time to move my music onto my Plex server and use Alexa to play it instead.

I'm not sure if I need an extra point or if my Comcast connection just sucks.

Agreed, I love my Pixel2 and past Google phones. I'll just never buy content of any kind from them again.

You check your credit card warranty?

I have 2 in my bathroom pairing them in stereo mode. You can do that now with Google smart speakers. I have one in each bedroom and one in the living room and one in the basement.

I read in the previous thread that it's better to go with the two routers package than a router than an access point?

Well you essentially have 2 routers working together instead of one router and an access point which is not as powerful as a router. But I'm no networking expert so perhaps others who's more familiar with this subject can chime in?
