I don't even need a gaming laptop but other 500 nits laptops cost just as much or more — great for outdoor use.

Only question is how does the 60
whr translate to actual battery life? (Non gaming, just internet browsing/netflix)

Not more than 6 to 7 hours with like 150-170 nits brightness. But more like 6 hours. However, if you don't need a gaming Laptop, checkout the Thinkpad T14 AMD deal posted here with 8 Core/16 Thread Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U. That, too comes with a 400 nits display option and will give you better battery life and a lot lighter too.

Might also wanna consider the AMD version. Better processor and battery life.
yeah the 4800H cpu wipes the floor of this intel i7. However i am not sure if you get a RTX 2060 or the good 240hz screen this one has?

I was saying that the other one has AMD processor which is better. Phrased the sentence incorrectly. I knew that the 1660Ti version being referred to as was the AMD one.

Anyone know if there's a way to charge these beast laptops with a DC 12v car adapter? Without using the AC brick on an inverter?

Dude, regarding the questions about dimensions and weight, go to the full spec link and find those out. How other people is gonna tell you which is too heavy and too thick for you? And same for HP Omen...how we are supposed to know which model you're referring? I'm sure that model will also have all the dimensions and weight information in the product page.
Now regarding your question about Ryzen based version, in terms of gaming performance, this version will perform slightly better. However, if you're planning to use the laptop for a lot of cpu heavy works then the Ryzen based one will perform better.
Another thing is that this model has a far superior and brighter display than the AMD Model.

Nope, you are making a wise decision. I too wanted to love it when I received mine today but it unfortunately has one dead pixel that Lenovo won't cover under warranty. The screen is the main selling point for this version of the Legion and a dead pixel is unacceptable for me. I wanted to use it for photo editing but a black dot would be so distracting I'd end up sorely regretting this purchase.

Most likely glow, not bleed. That's the nature of small IPS panels, but you can't have it all. You're not gonna notice or care during games which is what this laptop is for.
