Daughter outgrew this quick. Once they start wiggling, you'll freak out when you hear them thumping their head against the bars.

"Folding Portable Mini Crib with 1.5-inch Mattress" So you can easily move it into position.

My dog's have a thicker mattress than this crib.... LMAO
Dogs also usually weigh a whole heck a lot more than an infant. Infants should have a firm sleeping space to prevent SUDS.

Biggest advantage I see this for is if you want to use it as a bassinet next to the bed vs. an actual bassinet that has mesh sides.....where you can't see them as well. (that's what we had). However, don't plan on using this past 6-9 months when they start rolling all over the place and get this thing banging against whatever it's next to. Our bassinet does not fold up and store, so that's a problem for us right now while we figure out if we want to donate/give away or store it in case we have another kid (big if). We have a delta crib for the main crib, and it's a pretty decent brand and pretty solid. Our little one bangs up against that one and it's fine, but unless the wheels lock really well or you have carpet then this could move around a bit once they get bigger. The instructions to put together for our Delta were decent; however, if you're one that needs absolute perfection....then this might not be for you. I did notice some slight gaps in places where they should not be (very unnoticeable), but I can live with them.

We have two of these for our twins. The "mattress" is worthless but these mini cribs are fantastic, two fit in a small bedroom

I own this crib and it has held up really well. We purchased it for our in-laws when the kiddos stayed the night. It's easy to fold and stow away when needed.

Once you have your second or third, you'll care/worry less

Any advantage to using this over or instead of a pack-n-play with mattress?
The base is adjustable so you don't have to lean down to bottom to put baby down/pick up and then readjusts lower when they start to sit up but is still higher off ground than p&p. P&p is easier to travel with however. We have this crib and I personally love it. My third is sleeping in it now, and he's 1 so I disagree with those that say it gets outgrown quickly.

Can this be used as main crib?
We got this crib when my second outgrew his bassinet and my third is currently using it and he's 1. I had a standard size crib for my first and I have found this crib to be far easier as it can start in one room, be easily moved to another and then stored in a closet between kids. However, I transition mine to standard mattress on the floor by the time they are 2 so I can't speak for those who prefer to keep their kids in a crib longer.
