A lot of these overproduced items are now. However, if the reading is inaccurate to the specifications listed then it's defective. This item just says it's 'accurate' though, and doesn't give a ± for variance, so likely the item would never be classified as defective.

Hard pass.

Buyer beware, I purchased a $10 version of this, and it came looking like it was used before. The LCD was scratched and the packaging definitely wasn't in new condition.

I haven't purchased any batteries to see if it's operational yet, but I don't think anyone should take a risk on a item like this to save a few bucks.

Reviewmeta reduced the rating to 3.4 stars. Reviewmeta is similar to Fakespot but recalculates the overall product rating after removing the suspect reviews.

With the lack of accuracy on these it basically serves to give worrying spouses a false sense of security.

Glad to see Apple making this.
It's designed and made in PRC, and the company is a subsidiary of XiaoMi
Not saying it's bad as I don't have it, but just stating the fact.

Also, Apple does not make iRobot and iRobot was established 8 years before iMac

Lesson learnt after buying 2 off brand thermometer, I now stick with Braun

Do these report back to the CDC automatically?
Yea, along with your address and annual income.

Item is not returnable unless it is damaged or defective !
Shouldn't be too hard to make it "damaged"

these have been down to $12-$13 and suddenly a $20 one gets upvotes, hmm

Yes, I must be a huge shill based on my post history on SD since 2008.
I think you are mistaken that these have been $12-$13. iHealth is a somewhat reputable brand that didn't just jump on the bandwagon the last few months like most of the others that you've seen recently.

Based on ReviewMeta (new to me) it adjusts down to a 3.5 so basically in the same realm as the 3.4 of the OP

If Apple made this, you would need to add at least 1 zero to the end of the price.
